This is a perfect hotel to stay while I. wellington. I recommend them- for their 1. excellent rooms premier harbour facing. Very good size, aptly decorated, well furnished and well stocked.n2. Location- perfectly located in the heart of the baysn3. Team/ everyone I interacted with was courteous and kind. They helped us celebrate our parents 46th anniversary and were thoughtful about it.n4. Breakfast- we had packed breakfast which was well put together.n5. Facilities/lobby/vibe- luxurious and beautiful.nnOnly feedback/ for the teamnHow about some nice lounge chairs around the lobby for guests to be able to hang-out/ without occupying the chairs in the beautiful entry bar.
Beautiful Hotel. Clean. Good breakfast. Nothing much to complain except 1 safety hazard of the fridge cabinet door. I got a scratch on my palm from it. It's got a very sharp corner - Maybe Hotel need to do something about this in the future. Staffs were very friendly.
A 5-Star Hotel That Feels Stuck in the 90snnI had high hopes for this hotel, given its reputation and star rating, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. The overall design—both in the common areas and the rooms—feels like a throwback to late 90s Las Vegas, and not in a cool, nostalgic way. Think more “worn-out casino carpet” than “timeless luxury.”nnBreakfast was particularly underwhelming, not just in terms of selection but also the setup. The buffet layout forced guests into an awkward single-file squeeze, turning what should be a relaxed start to the day into a mildly stressful competition. Service was almost non-existent—nobody attended our table at all, not even for a simple glass of water. Coffee? That required some serious effort. After getting ignored by servers, I asked the breakfast manager, who was surprisingly dismissive. Turns out, everyone had to get up and find a server just to get a cup.nnTo make matters worse, I witnessed the breakfast manager yelling at one of the servers right in front of guests. He was already overwhelmed, and it was uncomfortable to watch. Not exactly the level of professionalism you’d expect from a five-star establishment.nnThe real kicker? No hot water in the morning. Nothing like an ice-cold shower to really wake you up. When I mentioned it at check-out, the receptionist simply stated that there should be hot water and that they’d “look into it.” Comforting. Maybe by the time I’m next in Wellington which, at this rate, won’t be for another 15 years, they’ll have it sorted.nnOn the bright side, the concierge team was outstanding—professional, quick, and genuinely helpful. They deserve to be at a hotel that matches their level of service.nnWould I stay here again? Let’s just say I’ll be looking elsewhere.
Service was absolutely impeccable at the Wellington Intercontinental Hotel. This began with the concierge who met us to the maids who took care of us. The location is in the center of a very walkable downtown area. Public transport to the hotel is readily available from all venues. We would definitely stay here next time we’re in town.
Had a wonderful stay with friends and partners to see the WOW show , only a 2 minute walk away. Room was lovely the shower was incredible I didn’t want to get out. Indoor pool was lovely and warm, nice buffet breakfast next morning. Overall great stay and I will return again.
