We had an okay stay at QT Canberra. The rate and package were very competitive, including parking, breakfast, and a few nice perks. And the reception staff were super friendly and helpful throughout.nnWe did have some issues with our room, the first was uncomfortably cold and the temperature couldn’t be adjusted. We were moved to another room thanks to the helpful team, but even there the climate control wasn’t working properly. At least it was warmer!nnThe hotel itself feels quite dated and the rooms don’t reflect the stylish vibe shown on their website. A bit of a letdown compared to other QT properties we’ve stayed at in other cities. That said, the breakfast was decent, and the complimentary drinks at the bar from our package were a nice addition.nnAll in all, it’s not a standout QT experience but it was good value for money and we appreciated not being hit with a huge bill at the end.
QT CANBERRA was an amazing place to stay. Room had a great view and the room was regularly cleaned. Also loved the chocolate treats left with a card as it was my birthday during my stay with them. Loved the team. Great job
Mother’s Day high teannThe QT Hotel provides a stunning venue for high tea, with an ambiance that’s both elegant and inviting. The setting undoubtedly sets the stage for a luxurious experience, and the friendly, attentive staff add a personal touch that’s hard to fault.nnHowever, despite the beautiful surroundings and warm service, the experience fell short when it came to accommodating dietary requirements. A pregnant family member’s specific needs were not adequately met, which was disappointing given the expectations set by the hotel’s reputation and price point.nnWhile the presentation and atmosphere were impressive, this oversight made the experience feel less than ideal and not entirely worth the cost. For such a premium venue, greater attention to detail in catering to all guests’ needs would go a long way.
The QT is a nice hotel in Canberra CBD with beautiful views of Parliament House, Lake Burley Griffin and the Black Mountain. The room I had was a good size and clean.nnAnd now the not so good things.nnThe bed was extremely uncomfortable. The pillows worse. You're provided with two pillows to choose from, firm or soft. Both are way too high to be comfortable. I'm actually in pain and had two sleepless nights.... But the bed linen appeared clean.nnService-wise, I'm not impressed.nnBreakfast is fine but don't expect much in the way of gluten free. I was told the gluten-free options were in the other side of the buffet... About 6 to 8 slices of drying, almost stale gluten-free bread. The end. The only means to toast said bread was covered in gluten containing bread crumbs which renders that not an option. Today Tuesday there were no scrambled eggs on the buffet. I gave up waiting for the chef to come out of hiding to order some eggs so no eggs for me today.nnYesterday Monday was a public holiday so the restaurant was closed, only bar food available I was told. Now the menu for the bar is a simplified version of the restaurant menu. Some of the dishes are marked as gluten free or having a gluten free options to it for the restaurant menu. The bar version of the menu, nothing. I asked the staff about it and was flatly told there was nothing on the menu gluten free. I don't understand what the difference is. If the restaurant can make the same dish gluten-free, why can't the bar?nnThen there's the parking. When I first arrived I was charged $8 for less than an hour. I was then charged $60 for two days. I have no problem with the $60, I expected that but the $8?nnAnd finally there's the program they have where for each day you hang a sign on the door to not have your room cleaned you get $10. I did this and nothing. The bar staff didn't seem to know what 8 was talking about when I asked about it. At the bar I had a whisky sour. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed them... But $30! Overpriced! A cocktail like a whisky sour shouldn't be more than $15. If you're argument is your using top shelf product them you're butchering the product.nnQT has the potential to be a really great 4 star hotel but these need to be addressed.nnAnd the staff member who welcomed me to the hotel, I wish I got her name was lovely and friendly.
QT Canberra were exceptional in delivering a perfect day for our wedding. Communication from their Events Team was constant, ensuring every detail was considered. A big shout out to Patti who was so helpful during all stages of planning.nnThe food on the day was amazing. We elected for a share plate arrangement served down the table. The quality and quantity of the food was perfect, with unique seasonal dishes. We received so many compliments from guests. Service on the day was flawless. Perfectly timed, friendly, attentive, and unobtrusive.nnWe booked out the Lounge on the 15th floor. The venue was great. Spotlessly clean with spectacular views of Canberra. A funky and fun space.
