Worst hotel in Australia and I've stayed in some rough places in Alice Springs, Mount Isa, etc, but this one is the worst. Terrible access due to a lot of construction near tram line. Noisy at night due to construction and tram. On arrival there's nowhere to park, reception person stunk like they had just smoked a packet of cigarettes. Poor communication and customer service. Lifts didn't work properly. Lift card scan for floor access wouldn't always work and you'd end up going on a trip to other floors. Car park paid for 5 days but no guarantees on availability. Hotel appears to be run down and looks old and dirty. Restaurant and pool area appear to be well kept.nOverall terrible. Will never ever stay here again. Will not recommend it to anyone else.
I had a wonderful experience at Novotel Canberra. AJ gave impressive and personalised attentive service, and he had a great sense of humour , too. Mia was absolutely a delight. Prav at the front desk gave me a wonderful room with a balcony, when my room had to be changed.nThe staff at this hotel these made me feel so happy , during a busy week too.nWish you all the best , dream team ! :
Lovely staff and thoughtful touchesnnI stayed in a one-bedroom apartment at the Novotel and was really impressed. The room was spacious and comfortable — perfect for families.nnThe staff were exceptionally kind and willing to think outside the box to help. There was only a dry-cleaning service available, but when I had a dirty car seat that needed washing, they kindly took it in and helped dry it after I hand-washed it. Such a thoughtful gesture! Really appreciate the help of the staff on duty. It was late around 10pm and the houseman is gone but still willing to go extra miles to help!nnI also loved that there’s a little play area for kids right next to reception — with toys, a tent, board games, and books. It made the stay feel extra family-friendly and welcoming.nnWould definitely stay again!
Starting with the positives. Was surprising quite despite being on the main road with a light rail station outside. Possibly due to the double glazed windows. Central location close to restaurants. Can walk most places in 10 minutes. If you’re up a 30 moderate walk, you can walk to most of the big attractions in under 1 hour. Not so good, hotel and rooms, especially the bathrooms need a freshen up. Everything is a little tired. Staff go about their business but are not overly friendly. A welcoming hello would be nice. Spent 5 nights there we came and went frequently and only on 2 occasions were we given a welcome greeting.
It’s definitely in one of the best locations, I think. The facilities are great—especially the large indoor pool with a nice view—and the restaurants have excellent service, as do the staff. The only downside is that the parking is a bit expensive, especially for overnight only parking, also the room size is a bit small.
