Very disappointing. Everything needs a good clean and paint. The room was too hot and temperature did not appear to adjust. There was not enough towels for a family a grouting in the bathroom needed to be cleaned. Small bath with what looks like a cigarette filter left from the cleaner. wifi did not work. Breakfast was 5 dollars more than quoted and each morning we were informed that we had not reserved. We had. If we get charged twice I will not be happy. There was a big range of breakfast but not tasty. Felt like everything had been sitting around for a long time. Scrambled egg had too much butter, bacon too much fat. Just cheap ingredients used for mass production. Overall the staff were friendly. Perhaps some needed up skilling. This is a reasonable hotel for a 3 star but the price for what you get is a way way too much and not worth it. I wish I had booked cheaper accomodation as I feel that we would have gotten more for the price.
Stayed here one night. I was advised that I had received an upgrade on my room by email, but when I got to the hotel at 1pm it still hadn't been cleaned yet so I took a regular room. It was OK - probably a bit tired and needed some updating but serviceable and the bed was comfortable. Be aware, the minibar items are VERY expensive - BYO snacks and drinks advised! The staff I dealt with were nice enough and polite. I would probably stay again if I returned to Canberra.
Lovely short business stay at Crowne Plaza Canberra. The hotel is beautifully presented, very modern and chic. The room was well appointed and very comfortable, the staff pleasant and helpful.nI had dinner in the restaurant Redsalt, great menu, delicious food. My only criticism would be the wine list, im a Shiraz lover and there was only one Shiraz on a very small list, and it was unavailable. Other than that everything was quite good.
I’ve travelled to quite a lot of 5-star hotels and resorts with my family, and I must say the staff and service here at Crowne Plaza are excellent. I believe in the hotel business it’s the small things that make your stay memorable, and while the hotel itself is fairly standard, we had a number of interactions that made me and my family feel at home.nnStarting at reception with Marbi and Steven, they not only made our children feel welcome but also offered a late check-out as soon as I checked in. I politely declined because I didn’t think I needed it, but after a late night I went back and asked. Their response wasn’t “no” or “only a little later” – it was, “What time do you need a late check-out until?”nnThe great service continued when I asked for a toothbrush because I’d forgotten mine. They were more than happy to help and made it feel like no issue at all.nnFinally, the next morning at breakfast we had such a warm greeting from the hostess Aishah, followed by a fantastic gentlemen who was waiting the tables we never got his name! who was so jolly and infectious that it was the perfect end to our stay.nnThank you to the hotel team for turning a standard place into a truly great time.
Centrally located with canberra center just 5 minutes walking distance. The rooms are pretty standard. Bathroom could use a good clean and carpet a thorough vacuum. Beds and pillows are comfy.nnBreakfast buffet is ok with adequate selection. Bacon is cold, rice is overheated, selection of eggs and barista coffee is a bonus. Shed from the breakfast team is outstanding, the only team member during breakfast who is genuinely looking after guests. Jasmine at check in was very helpful and informative.
