Platypus Shoes Fountain Gate

They have a large range of shoes and brands and fair few caps plus misc. Fairly good customer service and the staff there, in general are pretty helpful and accommodating. Certainly recommend this shop and will definitely come back.

Staff have no basic customer service skills. Refused to sell me the shoes I was after as they were kept offsite. Wouldn’t go and get the shoes in the end. Told me they would go get them. Then couldn’t go get them because they were too busy. Offered to pay for the shoes and pick them up during the week and they wouldn’t do that either. Of the 3 people I spoke to in the store all were rude and lacked basic customer service skills. If shoes are on sale why would they not be kept on premises? Or if they are kept off premises why not have enough staff to run between the shop and the offsite premises so you can actually sell said shoes? Lack of customer service and common sense obviously. Have since ordered online and had to pay postage due to the poor service instore!

I took my daughter to Fountain Gate to buy a new pair of shoes today. On our first visit we were completely ignored by all 3 staff. We left and looked elsewhere but she wanted a pair she had seen in Platypus. We went back to the store and were ignored for at least 10 minutes. One staff member was talking to a friend and another just walked around the store, ignoring customers. We ended up taking a shoe up to the unstaffed counter and waited to ask for a size 5. Eventually someone went out the back and came out with a 6 and said that's all they had. She pretty much tossed the box at us and went out the back, without saying a word. She then walked back out with her jacket and handbag and left... without saying a word to us. I went back to the counter to pay and told the man working what had happened. He told me she had gone on break and acted like I hadn't said anything,then asked if I wanted a receipt. I told him that he should at least acknowledge the feedback. If I could have got the shoes she wanted elsewhere, I would have just walked out... for a second time. It was probably the worst customer service I've ever had. It should not take that much effort to buy a pair of shoes!!!

Great service by the lovely lady today when I came in around 4.30pm. They didn’t have the particular shoes I was looking for but the sales lady went above and beyond to order it online for me and have it express posted. Awesome customer service.

Very nice staff .... Always helpful .... Especially Aidrian was very professional and helpful every time when we shop.....

The music in here was really really loud the other day. It was kinda funny. They’ve got heaps of shoes inside, and the staff are cool as well.

Absolutely fantastic customer service! Came in with my daughter after having been to another shoe store in the centre but not 100% sold on their shoes, but ended up buying from Platypus as the girls working there were lovely and really knowledgeable.

I don’t usually write reviews but yesterday I came here with my disabled Mum, the music was far too loud, i asked if they could turn it down a bit because i couldn’t hear the cashier 1 foot away from me. He said “no, it’s company policy” The music was seriously ear-damagingly loud. I have sensory issues and my head felt like it was spinning. If the music was at a normal volume i wouldn’t cause a fuss but oh my god i can’t move in there. No other Platypus shoes has music this loud. Second off, the customer service was awful, the two people we talked to were rude and had an off attitude, also could barely hear what they were saying. Chirnside Park Platypus has amazing staff, friendly environment from the moment you step in and NORMAL level music. Seriously, the music being THAT loud inside this store will damage your ears. Never have i ever had such a sour taste in my mouth after visiting a shoe store.

You just lost a $300 sale because you were to eager to serve other people and not even acknowledge I was there. Perhaps hire some team members who can at least say hello to the customer.

Shopping for a shoe but the retail people were very pushy. If I want to see if I want ti buy any shoes, I don't want someone pushing me to buy something. I left immediately after that.
