Arrived 11:30am on a Sunday right after a run. Didn’t have to make a big group booking but got a table for 8 and pulled 2 extra seats since there were no tables for 10. Reallyyyy liked the sparkling water on tap and tomato sauce bottles. Despite other reviews the service was fine, they were friendly to me.nnFood was edible and came out quickly considering how busy it was. Between 2 adults we shared a Parma and a beef burger. I don’t normally like my Parma placed on top of chips but it was cheesy and the chicken itself was well portioned so can’t complain. Burger bun was dry but the meat patty was juicy, so also can’t complain.
The London Tavern Hotel is hands down one of the best pubs in Richmond, and it’s easy to see why it’s such a local favourite. From the moment you walk in, there’s a great buzz — the kind of welcoming, relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile.nnThe beer garden is a real standout — spacious, beautifully set up, and perfect for everything from casual after-work drinks to bigger gatherings with friends. It has that rare mix of being lively without feeling overcrowded, and it’s just as enjoyable in summer as it is in the cooler months.nnThe staff are fantastic: friendly, down-to-earth, and always quick to serve with a smile. They really add to the whole experience, whether you’re a regular or popping in for the first time.nnThe drinks list is exactly what you’d want — plenty of beers on tap, including great local options, as well as a good selection of wines and spirits. The food is excellent too, with hearty, tasty pub classics done really well. Portion sizes are generous, and everything comes out fresh and quick.nnWhether you’re catching the footy, celebrating with mates, or just looking for a relaxed spot for a meal and a drink, the London Tavern hits the mark every time. It’s a pub with character, charm, and consistency — I’ll definitely be back again and again.
Worst chicken schnitzel I've ever had in my life. I've been to 100+ pubs and it was honestly horrible. Its like they just bought a cheap schnitzel from the local butcher and deep fried it. the salad and chips were nice but definitely not worth the price. The manager with the dyed red hair was horrible and made the vibes crap. Will never go back. Completely turned me off Melbourne after my first time visiting. I loved the rest of my Melbourne trip though. I would highly recommend not going here for a feed.
Definitely the best place to start your day/night at the footy. Great service, food van or bistro meals, great atmosphere. Easy walking distance to the MCG or Richmond station.
The London Tavern is a reliable venue year in and year out. Had the eye fillet for lunch. Ut was sensational, tender and tasty. The staff are great and the publican Bill a consumate host. Highly recommended.
