The Auburn Hotel, formally the Geebung Polo Club, combines the old world charm of the late 1800’s with friendly, attentive service and a product offering of uncompromising quality.

The heritage-style building and ornate Victorian decor create an inviting environment of comfort and style, whilst its contemporary menus and extensive beverage selection provide a degree of choice to gratify even the most discerning tastes.

I went to @theauburnhotel to meet some friends for lunch last weekend. It's a really nice place with beautiful interiors. The food was also good but the menu is definitely on the pricier side overall.nnWagyu burger with fries: it was a really nice burger to be honest! The Wagyu beef patty was nicely done. The brioche bun was soft and not too sweet. The fries were crispy.n- But, 30$ for a fairly simple burger with fries is definitely a bit expensive. I guess in this economy, you do see this more often now. Plus 18$ for a glass of wine - the lunch all of a sudden becomes 50$ with card surcharge.
We've only moved to Hawthorn for a few months, but we almost always hit up the Auburn Hotel on Mondays and Thursdays - it's practically become a weekly routine for us. What's been disappointing lately is that roasted chicken has been removed from the menu on Mondays, which is a bit of a bummer for us since we don't always feel like eating some deep fried food. But even so, we still love it here - the food is amazing and the portions are huge. The price isn't cheap, but the atmosphere is great, and the events on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays are really worth it.
Came for Kids Sunday Fun Day and the free zoo. The booking system is genuinely impressive. You can choose date, time, seating area, see real photos of each section, and even pre-order dishes or drinks. A+ UX.nnThe venue itself is great too. Spacious, comfortable, and well signed. Every area feels thoughtfully set up.nnUnfortunately, the food doesn’t live up to the price at all. Very expensive and very bland. We tried the kids’ penne, grilled chicken, assorted root veggies, calamari, crab spaghetti, pizza, Mexi parma, and none of them were enjoyable beyond basic ‘eat to be full’ level.nnService was uneven. The Pavilion entrance staff were lovely, but the servers delivering food seemed disengaged and uninterested.nnGreat concept and setting, but food and service seriously need work to justify the prices.
Beautiful pub. It’s very spacious with lots of different areas to accommodate your needs. The food is reasonably priced and delicious. Staff are also super friendly.
Fantastic place, delicious meals & friendly staff. We love the atmosphere of the dining room, just a bit quieter than their other areas. My wagu burger ordered without the buns was presented beautifully & absolutely delicious!
