Our son celebrated his 21st birthday with 50 people at Hawthorn Hotel Functions - at the Ethel Room Lounge and Deck. Eve Cook did a fantastic job as Events Mgr! Her bubbly and accomodating personality matched our own excitement at our once a lifetime event for our son. She organised flowers and lights decorations for the tables making the occasion memorable. The raw brick walled rooms and the outside deck with lights was warm and inviting. The 8 Canapés Cocktail Package with bar tab was perfect. The food was excellent and plentiful opening with trays of raw oysters followed by Harissa lamb skewers. Over all, it was a job well done thanks to Eve and the team at Hawthorn Hotel for making our occasion special and memorable. We highly recommend them!

Pretty average experience, haven't been to the Hawthorn hotel in a few years. Very disappointed with the food, if you're going to offer steak and the choice of how it's cooked you should probably follow through. 35 minute wait for food, the app did advise me 30 minutes so not too worried about this. But I ordered a rare steak and it came out like a leather handbag. They must have cooked it for the whole 35 minutes it took to come out, I would have sent it back but I was so hungry I didn't want to wait another half an hour.nnDrinks were good and nice seating outside. I'd come back but definitely not for food

Service was awesome so accomodating and helpful. Tasty food. Tacos we're a hit. Went for lunch.

Went on Wednesday steak night and paid extra for the “better quality” steak – it was tough, chewy and barely edible. No real service either, just QR code ordering. Only later realised it’s run by Australian Venue Co, which explains the poor quality. Very disappointing.

Popped in for a drink with mates on a whim and was pleasantly surprised — the chips were so good! Crispy, golden, and perfectly seasoned. Definitely coming back for another round.
