Story

Woodland House is the collaboration between two of Melbourne’s finest chefs, Thomas Woods and Hayden McFarland. A united culinary force, they have created an innovative, energetic and produce-based cuisine to complement the elegant and sophisticated dining room in which it is served.

Extremely mediocre food, in terms of portion, taste and the specialty of it. Prices are ridiculously high compare to the other fine dining restaurants and considering the food quality. Menu options are extremely limited as well. will not recommend or visit this place again.

A fantastic dining experience in a large quaint Victorian house. Each plate that arrived was beautifully presented with combinations to excite every taste bud. The waiting staff have an intimate knowledge of the food and wines they are serving. The suggested wine pairings have been cleverly thought out and add so much more the the experience. Prices are not cheap, but well worth it for the Wow! factor. This is not the best place for every day dining unless you have a budget to suit, but for a big treat or special occasion this is about as good as it gets for those that are serious about food.

Given the two hatted status, and that the room was lightly packed on a Wednesday, the service was bordering on negligent (and cheeky / offensive) and slow. The food was a solid performer, upkeeping with its Jacques Reymond heritage and in line with previous visits. Many other reviewers have commented on the acoustics of the main dining room (the one on the left as you enter). Considering the sparseness of the dining population that night and how clearly we could hear conversations around us, this is not the place to take business clients or hold dinners with interesting conversations.
