I stopped in for breakfast last week, my first and only time at Hobba. I must say that the service was excellent and the food was delicious. Maybe it's because I live in the outer suburbs, but I found the prices a little steep for the size of the meal I got. Having said that, the food was presented incredibly well, the chef clearly takes pride in the meals he/she creates. All round, a great little place in Prahran for a breakfast, provided you've got the wallet for it.

Average service - Probably could’ve done with a more attentive/ informed waiter. 
All I can say is know the product that you’re trying to sell. It makes all the difference. 
And to the host / manager; it wouldn’t kill to give a customer a smile would it? 
I did however really enjoy the Cold brew, both presentation and flavour.

Service was pretty average, the waitress was pretty nice, but the manager didn't speak a word to me. Pulled my empty plate off the table without so much as eye contact. He seemed very preoccupied and didn't seem to care about the customers at all. Food was alright the blistered tomatoes were really good, but the omlette pretty average, covering itself with a lot of fresh herbs to seemingly rectify its flaws, but just ending up with a lot of unpaired flavours. Filter was pretty good however, if I had just come in for coffee I probably would rate this place more. Smoothie was very thin and not very smoothie like at all. Tasted alright but didn't get a spoon to get any of the garnish from the bottom. Overall quite disappointed, if it wasn't for the good decor and size of this place it would get a 1 star review.

When I ordered sourdough toast I didn’t expect a sour faced host... (other staff is really nice however the person who appears to be the host is Quite unfriendly and gives an impression that he can’t be bothered) the smashed avo was a sloppy green mess which they decided was a perfect place to encase an uncooked poached egg.
The staff did offer to replace our meals as they were genuinely inedible, but we decided to give it a miss. Not great. It a shame because the place look amazing and definitely has potential to be a great place to eat.

Very friendly relaxed place to chill in. Very good service mid afternoon just before closing. Well done to the young lady who served me. I would recommend this place to try. I didn't eat here so no comment in the food.
