We visited Hobba and had the poke bowls. The atmosphere was lovely and the service was okay, although the food was a little dry for our liking. At around $27–$30 for a poke bowl, it also felt a bit overpriced for what we received. On the positive side, the coffee and chai latte were both very nice. Overall, a nice place to sit and relax, but the food could be improved for the price.
Visited in the early morning and ordered a flat white and the Hobba hotcakes. The coffee was pretty good; nice and strong. The hotcakes were cooked to order and served warm with a toasty exterior. The hotcakes had some volume with a somewhat similar texture to polenta cake but more soft and not crumbly. It was drizzled with maple syrup and topped with honeycomb for some sweetness. The mixed berries added some freshness to change up the flavour and the generous scoops of vanilla mascarpone added a nice creaminess to the hotcakes. Overall it was a tasty meal, service was quick and the staff was friendly.
Absolutely loved Hoppa! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was beautiful. The restaurant is located in a lovely, upscale area, which makes the whole experience even better. Definitely a place I’d happily come back to!nnAnd as for the random clothes hanger… apparently I was the only one who noticed it.
nnAbsolutely love Hobba! The food is always delicious and freshly prepared. I had the salmon poke bowl, and every ingredient worked together perfectly. I especially love that the salmon isn't overly salty - they cure it themselves, and you can really taste the care, time and love that goes into their dishes.nnThe coffee is consistently amazing, and I always stop by for my pre-run coffee. ‍nnBut what truly makes Hobba special is the staff. They are honestly the best! I've never felt so welcomed at a café. They pay attention to every little detail, and they genuinely care about your experience. From the moment we arrived until we left, they were checking in, asking how everything was and making sure we were well looked after. That level of hospitality is so rare and really makes a difference.nnThe atmosphere is another thing that makes Hobba stand out. It has such a vibrant, lively energy, definitely not one of those boring, beige cafés! The place is always buzzing and packed especially it was a Sunday!, which says a lot about how well the business is run and the quality of what they offer.nnGreat food, amazing coffee, exceptional staff and a fantastic atmosphere. You can really feel the passion and care that goes into this place. Highly recommend!
I have been to Hobba a few times before for coffee and always enjoyed that side of the café, so this was my first time trying the food. Unfortunately, it was a big disappointment.nThe staff were friendly and the coffee was okay, but the food was very poor for the price you pay.nThe smash avo looked messy and not fresh at all. For $26 you only get one piece of toast and one egg, we even had to pay extra for another egg. It honestly didn’t feel worth the money.nThe corn fritters were even more disappointing. Way too much parsley covering the whole dish and almost no flavour in the fritters themselves. The only nice thing on the plate was the yogurt sauce. For $28, the quality and taste were very underwhelming.nLooking at the photos, you can judge for yourself. The café has a nice atmosphere, but the food was all style with very little substance or flavour behind it.
