The perfect suburban pub for a relaxed Sunday lunch with friends. The staff were so friendly, efficient and attentive and the food was exceptional. The Sunday roast for $25 was superb my only tiny criticism was it needed a touch of green however we will definitely return.
The Mount Erica Hotel has that boujee pub energy — packed with locals and buzzing with atmosphere. Came here for a feed and a few drinks, and first thing to note… it’s bloody expensive.nnOrdered the chicken schnitzel, which came with a horseradish-style slaw that absolutely blasted up the nostrils — think wasabi vibes. The schnitzel itself was cooked really well and honestly enjoyable, but the slaw just wasn’t for me though I get why it’s popular with others.nnAlso tried the calamari, which was pretty standard — nothing amazing but decent with the dipping sauce. The salad it came with looked a little tired, but I usually skip that anyway.nnChips were solid, not standout, but did the job with a bit of mayo or ketchup. The beef tartare was actually quite decent — yolk and Tabasco really helped bring out the flavour.nnOverall, doing quality pub food with a slightly upscale twist. If I was rating the schnitty alone, I’d give it a 4/5. The rest of the food sat around the 3.5/5 mark. Big props to the kitchen though — food came out fast despite a full house.
Been here a few times just recently for events Sundays. Mixed feelings about this place - mainly because it’s a bit loud and hectic for me.nnBut can’t fault the establishment, run like clock work. Place looks great. Staff are on point - they are all over it - with a super friendly and fun manager. Quick, polite and efficient at the bar. Great wine list with to my surprise decent prices. Had a schnitzel which came out quick - and the place was super busy! Impressive and delicious.nnBut it’s VERY loud in there which makes it hard to catch up with people the reason why we were there. Then again, we were in the main bar area and the venue has plenty of other pockets. Perhaps these are quieter…..nnIf you want to have the feeling you’re going out without actually going out to a club/bar - then this pub is the place to be on a Sunday.
Came here for dinner last night, it was sensational. I’ve been here a few times but last night somehow was just exceptional. I had the steak and we had a few other people for dinner, we ordered most of options on the dessert menu as well. It was just fantastic so thank you very much.nnAlso thank you to Jacqui who handled our follow up booking, super friendly and helpful!
Wow what a surprise! Last visited in 1994, was expecting a parma & chips lunch but blown away by the beer and food on offer. Excellent job Mt Erica team.
