Reviews
The service from this agency is below woeful. We rented a property though Hunter French for a year and were treated with disrespect, rudely and at times unlawfully. On 4 separate occasions they failed to notify us that they would be showing the property and accessed the house without our knowledge as well as failing to notify us that the final inspection would/had been carried out. Kylie in particular was extremely rude and aggressive toward my partner on the phone. We had sent multiple emails with our complaint and they failed even then to respond. They attempted on multiple occasions to bully us into doing things “there way” rather than the correct legal way. I would never recommend renting though this company. They are unprofessional, rude, abusive and improper agents. They failure to adhere to the Residential Tenancy Act 1997 on multiple instances is inexcusable. If you are thinking of renting though them do not do it.
Its unfortunate that we have had to regrettably take our complaint to a public forum to get some sort of response from Hunter and French Real Estate. Replying the response below review from Mitch - it's great that this rental agency have now finally decided to respond to us after multiple emails which were unanswered or only responded to certain sections of the emails and a request for the director to respond to our genuine replies about their conduct went unanswered. This agency has continued to not address our concerns we had rental tenants. We did request a quote for your handy man to repair these damages " a small paint chip and a chip in a door" on our exit of the property. These requests again were no answered at all - it is all in written email if you try to dispute this. You failed to provide us the renters with reasonable opportunity to be present when the final condition report was complete as is a requirement under Section 35 5 of the Residential Tenancies Act 1997. We attempted to rectify the items that required repair - you did not respond. We then had no option to initiate request bond back ourselves without mutual agreement through RBTA Something I have never had to do in 6 years of renting. You then called us stating that you have dropped the request for repairs costs and that you would return all bond, all while still not addressing any complaints in our written communication - so we considered the agreement and obligations as tenants as closed. We are so glad we are out of the rat race of rentals and fortunate purchased our own home which we were accused by Hunter and French staff of unlawfully breaking lease, when we started moving our belongings from the rental. We were always on time in full with our rental payments we had our own house which we reached settlement on and there was a period of time we lived between both. We will ensure that if we have an investment property in the future we will closely vet agencies as rental tenants deserve respect and for their rental rights to be followed. You can see by the other reviews this is a common problem. Without renters your business is no business. Damage is not acceptable to properties - what is also not expectable is ignoring legislation your agency are governed by and obligations to tenants. We got placed in the "too hard basket" as we were responding back with clear legislative backing - We would continue to receive no communications back from your agency. I hope all tenants who read this review do some research into their legal rights under the Tenancy Act.
Extremely disappointed with the unprofessionalism of Hunter French Real Estate. Did not have contracts ready on inspection and then tried to coerce me in to signing without my conveyancer sighting the contract and before an offer had been agreed upon. I then had an offer accepted, but my conveyancer noted that the compliance certificate was out of date and the division of payments was not correct. HF advised that we needed to make contact with the vendors conveyancer to rectify this, despite it being part of the service the vendor is paying them for. Contact was made and they still had not responded 48 hours later, at which point HF was asked to contact them. I was then called two days later and told contracts were now up to date... and another party put an offer on the property. Done with the games and unethical behaviour I said the other party can have it. They then tried to upsell me. They could be the only agents in the area and I would still NOT recommend them!! The fact that these people respond to all complaints as false just goes to show how unprofessional they are. Nothing in my review is incorrect. Yes I’m upset that their unscrupulous methods meant I did not get the unit I had an offer ACCEPTED on… due to fault on their end not mine!! Of course I said no to offering a higher bid, it was evident that they are UNPROFESSIONAL
Lucky I gave a 1,I would prefer 0 Looking a buying a property in Altona Meadows, got cash, found a property I could be interested in, NO return Texts,NO return phone calls, rang office, left message for Michael to call, again NO call. Good to see there business is doing well I would NOT deal with them
Saade made the process of selling my house so easy. Always happy to explain things, and kept me informed throughout the process. Very knowledgeable and helpful. He really understands the area and the market. Would absolutely recommend.
The rental market is so hard these days and this agent, particularly Kylie, helped us get a great unit and treated us like human beings. Much thanks.
