This hotel is in an excellent location—right by Chinatown, Hay Market, and World Square—so there’s no shortage of restaurants, cafes, and shops within walking distance. It’s also very close to the tram station, making it easy to explore other parts of the city. The room was spacious with a modern interior and a nice walk-in shower, which made the stay very comfortable. I think they had renovations a few years back. Everything felt clean and well-maintained. Overall, the combination of the convenient location, easy access to public transport, and the spacious, upgraded room made our stay enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again.
Very nice hotel in CBD just next to Chinatown. Well furnished, good amenities, gym, buffet breakfast etc. available as per 4 star standards. It is walkable distance from many prominent tourist spots. It is well connected by light rail and road with rest of the CBD and city. Staff was courteous and helpful during the stay.
The best aspect of this hotel is its location — right in the heart of Chinatown, with easy access to Darling Harbour. Although you should in any case avoid an apartment on the first floor, as it can get quite loud.nUpon arrival, I was initially given a room that smelled strongly of cigarettes. Thankfully, this issue was quickly resolved after I reported it to reception.nHowever, overall service quality left much to be desired, and I would not recommend staying here. During my 7-night stay, not once did I receive a greeting from any hotel staff. It was evident that the hotel prioritizes airline crews who arrive in groups, rather than individual travelers.nI actually chose to stay at Furama besides the location, attracted by the promise of breakfast options — but this proved to be another disappointment. The breakfast was poor, with limited choices, cramped with guests struggling to move around the breakfast tables. Staff in the breakfast area seemed more interested in chatting with each other than assisting guests.nRoom service was equally unsatisfactory. Cleaning is only provided upon request by leaving a sign outside the door, which I did for two consecutive days. No one came. On the second day, I called reception around 4 pm and was told cleaning usually occurs between 12 pm and 5 pm, and that someone would be sent. No one arrived, and I had to personally track down staff just to get clean towels.nThe gym facilities were also disappointing. Access to the laundry room requires passing through the gym, which had an unpleasant odor. In addition, service elevators are located inside the gym, with staff constantly coming and going, making it uncomfortable to exercise due to the constant disturbance.nI booked the trip via an agency, and had already informed the agency to not recommend the hotel anymore.nI also read the hotel’s responses to other guests, and I found them troubling. First, they disclose details of guests’ stays, which raises privacy concerns. Second, rather than acknowledging issues, they tend to offer excuses to justify poor service instead of addressing it constructively.
I can not speak highly enough of both the reception staff and cleaners but PARTICULARLY the management. The reception management but also back end crew such as Margo and Hanna were amazing in organising my extended stay.nnI had to pre book 24 stays of which I’m halfway through.nnI’ve had a few different rooms of different configurations and all rooms are great.nn$22 for a buffet breakfast….. can you beat it?nEvery few times I’ve had slightly different menu apart from the staples. Some things on rotation arenFried ricenRoast potatonDifferent pastries etcnnStaples like eggs hard/scrambled, bacon, salads with bean, corn, avocado etc. toast, pancakes etc just too much to list!nnNext trip to the city. Specially near China town book in a stay at Furama
Great location, only few steps to Chinatown! Breakfast is good with lots of different choices everyday. And receptionist staffs are very accomodating. They’re doing the best to give us same room for our case several booking codes for each day, 3 separate rooms. Crazy how the staffs still handled us with smile would love to stay here again!
