When you sit down for your movie, you must first sit through 30 minutes of ads yes, ads totalling one third of the actual movie runtime. Event, that is really poor form. Anyway once you've passed their concentration test, and after blasting your eardrums with their pre loaded Dolby Atmos demo to show off their speakers, they proceed to misuse their audio equipment for the movie and you're left with a distant sounding echoed mess to figure out what the characters are saying. Once you get used to that, you can sit back and enjoy David Harbours Santa tearing people to shreds. The colours are incredible, and the popcorn is decent if it didn't get cold during the ads.
Gold class North Lakes purchased drinks but did not receive during a 3 hour movie. When I went to the counter to let them know after the movie was given a refund and a sorry. This is a theatre that u pay more for your drinks and food so would expect better
I'd say Event Cinemas days are numbered. Have seen hundreds of movies with them but this is the first time I have been refused entry due to have fast food with me. You have lost a lifetime customer, luckily for me there are plenty of other cinemas not related to Event.
Tonight was terrible. Paid $25 for cold sago pepperoni pizza. The Sundea was half melted by the time it got to us and the toilets we’re disgusting. How can you name yourselves gold class. We paid $60 for 2 items that were completely unsatisfactory.Pick up the standards north lakes
Went to North lakes event cinemas to see avatar which is a fairly long movie. On exiting movies, went to validate parking and as I'm a member of westfield plus, my card was debited before I was able to scan movie validation. Upon calling westfield concierge to find out what was happening, was told that parking can only be validated for 3 hours, which is shorter than the film we just went to see. I just don't like paying over $100 for my family to go see a movie, then getting stung for $10+ for parking at the same time. Do not recommend going to the movies at northlakes unless you are willing to pay even more than expecting.
Went to see a movie today the customer service was good but I went to the toilet before my movie and found it filthy meaning I had to clean it to use it. And inside was the worst super thin and cheap tp I have ever had to use not a good experience. The biggest issue was however the popcorn it was bland, overly salty and a little bit stale.
This visit was something of a one off, spur of the moment decision, but I was desperate to see Top Gun Maverick and I couldn't pass up the opportunity! So I was unfamiliar with the process of getting tickets and getting to my seat. However it's a simple touch screen selection and usual card payment system at one of 4 I think stations highly visible in the entrance to the cinema. Plenty of signs pointed the way to our cinema, with more signs for the nearby loo. Another LED screen in the doorway reminded you where your seat is, easily located with illuminated row letters. The seats, make that armchairs with headrests, were very comfy with plenty of leg room, and high enough if someone was sitting in front. It got cold, but at least it wasn't stuffy. So after two hours of sitting my old bones didn't work too well negotiating the stairs down in the gloom and I felt I needed a hand rail, there was nothing. Hence the reason for 4 stars. The film was brilliant btw!
Couldn't use the self-serve kiosk. Am a member without a card. Gave money to my friend who went through the steps to download app and enter details etc when we found out we could pay cash at the staffed counter at food bar. I also have a bad back which made it uncomfortable to sit through the movie without moving about. If I were a child, my Mum would tell to sit still lol. Might need to cough up the extra money and try gold class.
Great place. Went there about 2 weeks ago. Was in a rush to get to the movie. It also cost a bit for food. But overall great experience.
Clean and spacious. A few games for the kids. Self-service ticket machine. Candy bar was clean and the cashier was lovely. Cinema was very large and also clean. Took 1 star away because of the price of food and drink, horrendeously expensive.
