Amazing service, booked and payed full in advance with child seat. Car was clean and almost new. Got the same car which i chose in my booking. Got the refund in next business day when I returned the car. Make sure you give the car in the same condition u pick including full tank and cleanliness. Surely will come back and book again. Good work europcar.
This is the first time I’ve ever left a 1-star review, but this experience genuinely deserves it.nnI arrived at Gold Coast Airport with a confirmed booking quote of $335 through DiscoverCars and had already prepaid $93 for insurance.nnAt the Europcar counter I was asked if I wanted “full insurance”. Since my booking already included Full Coverage, I reasonably assumed it referred to the same protection.nnNo one explained that Europcar was selling a separate insurance product that would override the coverage I had already paid for.nnAnd when we arrived late at night I was also told I needed a physical credit card, which had not been clearly communicated beforehand. I had to add my friend as an additional driver just to collect the car.nnThe total charge had increased to $650, while the $93 prepaid coverage was not refunded or applied.nnTo make matters worse, the vehicle provided was a Mazda CX-5 instead of the booked Toyota Yaris Cross category, which was a downgrade.nnSo despite arriving with a confirmed quote and already paying part of the cost, I ended up paying more than $700.nnThey maintained that the charges were valid and refused to refund. And neither Europcar nor the agency accepted responsibility for the overlapping insurance.nnExtremely poor transparency. I would strongly recommend renting from another company.
Had my honeymoon at the Gold coast recently and hired a car from Europcar at the airport for 6 days to get around Qld during my stay, it was my first time hiring a car ..nnI pre booked a Cupra formentor vzx and that's what I received when I got there, I was slightly concerned I'd be given a different vehicle but everything went accordingly, staff were really friendly didn't have an issue picking up or returning the vehicle.nnThe car was clean, fun to drive and had a really great time on the Gold coast and wouldn't hesitate to hire a car again from Europcar at Coolangatta airport.. thankyou
