I was at David Jones with a gift voucher, which expired in the month I was there (December). After the lady at the register told me it was invalid, I was directed to customer service. At customer service, I was told that this supposed gift card was given to me through a promotion. However; I know that is was given to me for Christmas the previous year, as well as having an expiry date for when I could use it by, so clearly not a promotional gift card. After a long wait, I was finally told that there was no record of it and that there was nothing they could do. Waste of my time and of my family’s money. This is also the second time this has happened, I am not impressed with David Jones Gift Voucher services. Please improve this. Have a nice day.

Hate to give a bad review but this has happened more than once!
I went in store to collect a click and collect I’d ordered the night before and was told that had been cancelled due to stock not being available and was given a refund. Fair enough. 
However, upon leaving the store, I happened to walk past an entire shelf of the product which was supposedly ‘out of stock’. When I went back to the re-purchase it, the staff seemed to not know what they were doing and rather unwilling to help.
This is unfortunate from a store who we all used to trust so much,

They did not have a selection in my size and the attendant (Alex) phoned around and found one at a competitor. Great and friendly service.

Passive aggressive customer service. Person serving me tried to convince me that the sale on my item was limited to David Jones card holders only. Had to stand my ground as a customer which is not something I expect when I walk into a David jones store. Won't be looking to return to this store anytime soon.
