David Jones

I popped in to purchase a new mattress from David Jones at the weekend as I had previously purchased my bed base from them and had been provided great service from Enza who works within this area. Sadly my experience this time around was a lot to be desired from a staff member who proceeded to give me lacklustre service and had zero interest in selling me a mattress. I was the only person in this area so it's not the case the staff member was rushed off his feet. I explained to the staff member that I had a budget that I'd like to stick within( my budget was not set in stone and I was willing to go a bit more if I was convinced ) at no stage did he query what my needs were, he had ZERO interest in selling me a mattress.He showed me one mattress out of all the mattresses that they had on offer on the floor of David Jones bedding department and proceeded to tell me that this is the only one "I could buy" he made no effort to up sale to me at any stage. He was totally disinterested in engaging with me and was more concerned about getting back to his desk. When I spoke to a manager in relation to what had happened who was extremely helpful and somewhat horrified about what had happened she was able to find her colleague Enza to help me . I can't talk highly enough about the level service that was provided to me from Enza, not only did she turn the situation around she also was able to up sale to me at the same time. Her customer services skills and knowledge are fanatics and is a credit to David Jones. Sadly I cannot say the same for her colleague he should maybe work under Enza's supervision for a while so he can learn on how to sell to the general public. The think I found even more shocking was he was a supervisor within DJ's,as a retail company DJ you need to lift your game when it comes to the level of service your staff members are providing there is far to much competition in the retail market to have disinterested staff members on your shop floor,only for the fact that your staff member Enza was able to turn the situation around, I was heading back to Myers to make my purchase.

Their return policy is a joke. Tried to return a garment with all tags attached, Never worn nor used and i have been told that i can not return this shirt because there is a sweat stain on the collar. How could this be. Someone obviously has tried it on and i have purchased it. They do not care about their customers and if they did i wouldn't be saying that i will never be shopping with David Jones again.

My sister and I were served by a lovely lady in the David Lawrence dept. We both bought beautiful dresses for our nieces wedding.

I found the staff to be courteous & helpful. Their assistance was appreciated & the suit range the store provided enabled me to find what l wanted with little fuss.
