I appreciated that the balcony door could be opened, which is not something many hotels offer. However, the room had a strong smell of cigarette smoke, likely from guests smoking near open windows. The bed was spacious and comfortable, but the shower was quite small and caused water to spill across the bathroom floor. Check-in was quick and efficient, and the reception area was nicely presented. The clientele in the lobby seemed a little rough and had a noticeable smell of drugs, though I wouldn’t say that’s the hotel’s fault.nnUnfortunately, the overall experience didn’t feel like a true four-star stay. There was a lot of noise early in the morning, with doors slamming from 6am and cleaning staff making quite a bit of noise. Small details, like the lack of hair conditioner, made it feel more like a budget hotel. Though well priced, I had expected a higher standard.
I stay here every couple of months for business travel and cannot be more impressed with the location, friendly staff, great value rooms. And a decent view and the warm morning sun to wake you in the morning if on that side of the building.nSure the hotel is not in pristine condition but it's clean and tidy and the price reflects the condition. If the hotel were to be refurbished the prices would surely double. I'm happy as it is. Great work!
The rooms are spacious and clean. Check in was easy and the woman on the desk was very helpful and kind. The lobby is lovely. But I'm giving this hotel a 2 overall because after spending $300 in the restaurant, the service was very poor. We had to ask for more drinks, our table wasn't cleared. When the deserts came which we had to go and order at the bar because again, noone came to check on us the whole time despite someone being stood there on his phone. We had to shuffle plates around to fit deserts on the table. He still didn't clear the main plates. It just made it uncomfortable for us to enjoy our meal. For the price, I hoped for more.
I arrived on the 9th July and stayed until the 13th. I have already left a hand written review in their feedback box at the hotel.nWhile the building, rooms and furniture are a bit rundown, worn or damaged my room was tidy and cleaned very well and when I mentioned a door pull on my bathroom door was falling off missing screwas I was on my way out, they asked if they could please send maintenance in to fix it while I was out. I had previously asked for no one to enter my room. I am disabled and had placed my mobility aids etc around my room and didn't want things moved or the bed remade as I had adjusted pillows etc to suit my disabilities.nEven with the worn, tired and damaged parts of my room the staff made staying at this hotel a joy. From the reception people to the restaurant staff, they were all so helpful. I can't really say much about the housekeeping staffbecause I had requested zero housekeeping during my stay, but my room was spotless when I booked in. At one point I had just opened my door to head downstairs to reception to get help undoing the top of my hotwater bottle helps with my back pain when Nancy from reception was just getting into the lift and asked if I needed help. She loosened the top of my hottie and said I didn't need to make the trip to reception if I needed anything. Just call down on the in-room phone and they'd be happy to come up and help.nNothing was too much trouble for your staff who always acted in a friendly but professional manner. Everyone I interacted with at the Copthorne gets top marks from me. Five stars to all the staff.
Nanise at the front desk was amazing! She was friendly and very helpful, we requested to change to a different room as I had booked the wrong one and she made the process so easy and no request was too much. 10/10 customer service :
