Disappointing Stay with Unexpected Fees and Poor Room ConditionsnnI recently stayed at this hotel and was left feeling thoroughly disappointed. From hidden charges to poor room maintenance, it was a far cry from what I expected.nnFirst, I had specifically paid extra for a “continental breakfast,” only to be told upon arrival that it would cost an additional $6 per person to get anything beyond cereal and bread. This felt misleading and left me with a sour taste from the start.nnThe room itself was average at best, but unfortunately, it showed clear signs of neglect. The shower glass was cracked, and the mirror shelf had visible damage. Spot marks were scattered across various surfaces in the bathroom, hinting at a lack of thorough cleaning. To make matters worse, the ceiling had patches of mold, which was not only unpleasant but also concerning from a health perspective.nnA particularly frustrating feature was the refrigerator, which seemed to “kick in” at random times throughout the night, making loud noises that disrupted any chance of peaceful sleep.nnAll in all, I can’t say I’d recommend this hotel. With its hidden fees and unkept conditions, I’d advise potential guests to consider other options for a more comfortable and transparent experience.
This hotel thinks of itself as slightly inferior to VR Queens next door, but it punches above its weight in terms of value for money. The room was sparkling and far beyond adequate and the staff were very attentive. Recommend!
This Hotel is located close to absolutely everything. Very clean rooms, comfortable beds, everything in new working order.nnAlso very good cooked breakfasts, handy parking. Reception is safe and secure after hours.nnA perfect safe and reasonable priced hotel to stay.
Terrible experience. Totally ruined my honeymoon. There was no hot water, and the heater wasn’t working. The drying machine in the laundry room was also out of order. One of the windows seemed like it was about to fall down. The maintenance and management were very poor. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Other than that, nothing was satisfactory. Think twice before booking.
Service is great.nnThis is another VR group hotel. They seem to specialise in the minimalistic approach and with rooms in need of an update.nnRooms are basic and tiny but are kept clean. Shower cubicle was tiny, if you’re on the larger side of the human race overall you might have difficulty in the bathroom. I’m average build and I struggled.nnThings are getting worn out, the room had water stains on the carpet and the elevator electronic key access was taped up with clear tape. This is not a cleaning or staff issue but seem to be a lack of investment in the property by the VR group.nnNo plates or anywhere to eat other than on the bed and all you get is a couple of cups and glasses.nnCoffee sachets, tea, creamer etc are in the room ….. but no kettle.nnNo ironing facilities in the room you have to use the common laundry room.nnSeems to have more of a hostel feel than a hotel.nnFor the price paid you are better off going to one of the nearby hostels and saving some money or paying a bit more and staying at their sister building VR Queen St ten steps away.nnAll you’re going to get is a room and a attaches shower. Other places in the CBD offer that for less
