The Reef Resort

We have enjoyed a fantastic week in the beautiful resort. The staff were great, service impeccable and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and stay here again. Thanks guys!

We had a wonderful stay at reef resort. We turned up without a booking on a night where most of Taupo was booked out. The new owners were beyond accommodating and made it work for us perfectly. Fantastic rooms which were a great layout with children. Well equipped kitchen, great heated pool, parking, laundry room. Can’t wait to come back.

The couple co-managing this resort were very welcoming and accommodating; providing extra coffee and milk for our needs. Had a wonderful stay and highly recommend the great spot, ty.

Our stay at the Reef was lovely. The location was great for us, and the view of the water from our room was a real treat. The staff were so kind and welcoming. I had breakfast in my room one of the mornings and it was exactly what I wanted and needed. We got an upgrade when we arrived - our room was HUGE. During the day, I didn’t find the room very quiet though. There was a lot of sound transfer from the lobby and from the pool area. I was worried at how this would impact the evening - but by night the room was quiet and there was no sound transfer at all. This wasn’t a negative - but just something to be aware of in case your expectations are silence. The pool and spa were both lovely - great after a long day hiking. We appreciated that laundry available for guest use. On a road trip across the north island, this was something we were looking for in a hotel - so we were grateful it was available. Overall, we had a great stay and would have no hesitations in recommending the Reef or staying here again.

A last minute decision to stop off in Taupo for the night and I tell you it was the best decision. We’ve been on the road travelling for the past week and this was our best stay by far, from the amazingly beautiful lady who greeted and checked us in to the heated pool which was very welcomed on a winter’s evening. The in room spa that we could relax in and watch the tv from was another highlight. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who Is looking for that clean, comfortable and extra bit of relaxation.nThank you. We may just check back in on our way back through next week.
