Camellia court family motel

You get what you pay for and this place is VERY very basic and run down sadly. We had to stay in a cabin and it really was a last resort. This place looks like it hasn’t had any work or updates done since the 60s. Quite a depressing place to stay, there was only 1 mug in the kitchen for a room that can sleep 4 people. It still had old electric coil stove top elements that were all rusted taking up bench space. The fridge was so loud it kept you awake. The shared shower and toilet block smelled bad, didn’t look clean and had heaps of dead bugs in the sinks - this place needs A LOT of love and work done. You could at least try to make it feel charming in some way. Yes you are marketed as a budget motel, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make it even the least bit pleasing and enjoyable. Give this motel some much needed love.

The person at the front desk was so kind, upgraded our room for free and made sure we had access to our key and communicated well with us even though we booked past check in/pretty late in the evening. The room was really clean and the shower had great water pressure, there was a nice kitchen with water boiler and all you could want. Highly enjoyed our stay!

This place is mint! Our 4 adolescents had a great stay and that is what makes us happy!nnIt is priced very well for a family.nnWe had a family of 6 and our 2 bedroom cabin could sleep 7. It has everything we could need, the bathroom was functioning and the kitchenette.nnThe beds served there purpose. Not luxurious by any means but we were able to rest.nnOur family made some great memories and appreciate little motels like this that accommodate us if only for a night.nnNga mihi nui

Booked a week in advance Monday to attend a family funeral. Rang the day of booking as no money had left my acct. Sorted that, money would be taken on Friday day of check-in. Come Friday, I ring 9am, money still in acct they tell me all good to pay upon arrival, ask what the ETA is I say 5-6pm, no worries. Arrive in Taupo 6:04pm & they say they tried to ring me to ask if we were still coming and that they cancelled our room. tried to explain cell service was choppy & didn't get notifications till we got in to Taupo. Notification for said calls were 5:12pm nThey give us another room for 2 nights then original room I paid for for remaining 7 nights. 1st room, surfaces were sticky, shower was more like a tap, power sockets falling off & toilet wasn't flushing. Windows not closing & smelt like urine throughout the carpark. Was still charged more even though it was a smaller room.n2nd room was better, although the knobs of drawers and cupboards were falling off.nPlayground was gross, lots of bugs and slimy moss. Big tree could do with a trim though, it scratches bigger cars as they drive through.

I am writing on behalf of four families; each family had five members, so we were a group of 19 people, including adults and children.nI booked this hotel through Booking.com, and before travelling, I called to confirm that everything was in order. There was a misunderstanding and argument with the owner regarding the my booking, which made me a little worried about what might happen.nHowever, when we arrived with all 19 people, the manager, Vishal was truly exceptional. He was a hero — like a superman. He handled the situation very gently, politely, and professionally, and resolved all the issues smoothly. He also arranged excellent rooms for us.nWe stayed for two nights and had a wonderful experience. All 19 of us are very grateful and keep sharing our appreciation. Everyone is still talking about the kindness, professionalism, and positive attitude of the manager.
