This is a place that feeds your belly and your soul. Bring your own bowl and cutlery though you can borrow if you forget. I think if you bring a big plate you'll get served a big plate of food, so bring a bowl or plate that reflects the size of your tummy. I ate breakfast and lunch here earlier in the week. Everything was yummy and nourishing. I especially liked the pumpkin arancine and cauliflower cheese sauce. In order to feed the community with many free meals going out and keep the prices low, you are asked to do the clean up work like bringing your own bowl or washing theirs in the washroom provided, but I believe it's a very fair trade off to be able to get a delicious filling meal for as little as $4, in a beautiful communal space.
An awesome place to eat in and enjoy community and togetherness. The business model is brilliant.
Very nice concept of cheap but tasty food in a warm atmosphere, supporting the local community. Who cannot afford paying the full price which is relatively low, is welcome to give what he can.nVery attentive and friendly staff, big portions vegetarian options as well and delicious desserts!
Oh, that was such a delicious meal!!nThe first time ordering, and collecting from Port Chalmers library.nI highly recommend.nThank you to all who make this wonderful food available
Wow wow wow!nPartner and I went here for the first time last night and this is Dunedin’s best kept secret. A hidden gem truly! The food was insane and I was given so much of it and it was cheap as chips. The atmosphere was so warm and kind. It really is all about community and coming together. Highly recommended - best place for an overall dining experience!nnBelle xx
