Large blue cod meal had two small pieces. Salad that came with pork belly was tiny. Tasty but very small for the price.

I recently had lunch at Mornington Tavern and honestly, it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.nnFrom the moment we arrived, the service was absolutely spot on—friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being over the top it really set the tone for the whole meal.nnFor food, everything was a perfect 10/10. I ordered the steak cooked rare, and it exceeded all my expectations it was cooked beautifully—tender, juicy, and full of flavour. You can tell the kitchen really knows what they’re doing. My partner went for the schnitzel and swapped the salad for onion rings, which was a great choice. The portion was generous, and everything on the plate was cooked to perfection.nnOverall, the combination of incredible food and top-tier service made this an easy 10/10 experience. I’d highly recommend Mornington taphouse to anyone looking for a great meal, and we’ll definitely be back.

Great pub! Needs a bigger outside seating but nice little area. Best chips/fries in Dunedin. Friendly locals all up for a chat and game of pool. Quiz night every Tuesday
