Great taste, big portion, reasonably priced. recommended for those after Asian food in Dunedin. They got a variety of choices on their menu. Also solo traveler friendly with their rice set.
If you’re ever craving for good Chinese food and a taste of home, this is the place to go. Food is really great and worth it.
I have reviewed Chopsticks 101 before and gave it a glowing review. As mentioned in that review, we have been customers as a family for many years now, and it is our dedicated celebration restaurant in Dunedin. However, on the past two occasions, they just haven't been hitting the mark anymore. Don't get me wrong —the service is always excellent —but the food is slipping, I'm afraid. On this last occasion, burnt Calamari was brought to the table, but upon bringing it to the staff's attention, we were promptly offered a replacement or a refund.nUnfortunately, it didn't get that much better with the rest of the dishes. The fried pork vinegar was well, lacking vinegar, and the Salted fish with eggplant had very little depth of flavour compared to past iterations. The dishes felt rushed and careless—certainly not what we've come to expect from Chopsticks 101. On a previous occasion, we had a similar experience, but we thought it might just be a new chef bedding in, so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, on this occasion, it seems the new chef —or possibly a new new chef —has bedded in, and it's not for the best. That and also, they didn't look after the kids like they used to.nHopefully, things pick up and C101 can again reach those lofty heights soon!nWe'll still be back, hoping for the best for one of Dunedin's most special restaurants.
We had delicious food as Take Away and can definitely recommend this restaurant. Portions are huge and really tasty.
Amazing dishes, tasty and affordable price. Variety of the menus that you can choose. My favourite restaurant in Dunedin, never get bored, either for snacking or mains. Always come to fulfil my tummy: and you can collect stamps to get free meals.
