Shore Road Reserve is a peaceful escape with stunning harbor views and plenty of open space. Perfect for a quiet stroll, a picnic, or just unwinding by the water. It’s a hidden gem for those seeking calm and relaxation in nature.
Positives:nPlayground and grassy area away from the main road. Walkable distance from Newmarket. Bring a ball and kick it around would be my best advice.nNegatives:nThere’s not a lot for little ones to do here… the slide isn’t accessible for small kids who can’t climb a ladder to get up. Maybe older kids would enjoy a quick visit here but may get bored quickly. The grassy area looks a bit prickly and there’s no shade near the park.
The path along the seaward side is lovely and creates a nice connection with the Hobson Bay Walkway and Waitaramoa Reserve. The massive playing fields and the parking chaos they generate are pretty off-putting for casual users though.
Shore Road Reserve is a popular community park offering wide-open spaces, sports fields, and a well-equipped playground. It's perfect for families, joggers, and dog walkers, with scenic walking paths along Hobson Bay and views of Rangitoto Island. The park includes rugby fields, cricket nets, and off-leash dog areas, along with convenient amenities like toilets and changing rooms. While the playground is only partially fenced and lacks shade, the reserve remains a great spot for outdoor activities and relaxation.
Great reserve with a playground and public toilets. There's heaps of carpark, probably for the rugby fields nearby when there's a game. There is also a walking path that goes through the shoreline and it extends to other reserves along the shore.
