Visited 2nd Jan. Mount Eden Maungawhau is a must-visit spot, offering stunning panoramic views of the city and harbour from the summit. The walk up is relatively easy, with well-formed paths and plenty of places to stop and take in the scenery. The volcanic crater is impressive and adds to the site’s cultural and geological significance. It’s a great place for photos, a short walk, or simply enjoying the views, especially around sunrise or sunset.
Mount Eden is absolutely worth a visit while in Auckland. The walk up to the summit is enjoyable—relatively easy, with a steady incline and plenty of scenic spots along the way. Once at the top, the panoramic views over the city and the volcanic crater are fantastic, especially on a clear day.nDo note that parking can be a bit challenging during busy hours, as the area gets quite popular with both locals and visitors. If you can, consider going earlier in the day or being prepared for a short wait.nOverall, Mount Eden offers a great combination of nature, views, and a pleasant hike. Highly recommend.
A wonderful short walk of around 2 km, offering beautiful natural surroundings along with city views. The track is not steep and has well-built steps throughout. Thoughtfully placed benches and designated viewpoints add to the experience.nnVehicle parking, bus stop and a cafe are located nearby. Highly recommended for nature lovers and those who enjoy an easy, short walk.
The view here is impeccable, really captures the vibe of Auckland. Even if you come here on a gloomy day, the beauty still shine through. The walk wasn’t too long either, so do give it a try.
It was quite the hike to get to the top from the bottom! The views are well worth the hard labor. You won’t regret it. There were parking spots available about midway up the trail. Didn’t look like a lot of parking spots though. Even on a day with some overcast, you’ll still get a good view!
