Hobson Bay Walkway

The Hobson Bay Walkway is a nice coastal walk starting from the Orakei Shopping Centre. The path runs along the edge of Saint Kentigern Boys’ School and follows the bay all the way to a small beach at the end.nnAlong the way you’ll get some great views of Auckland’s harbour and tidal plants along the shoreline, which makes the walk quite relaxing. The small beach at the end can feel like a little hidden spot for playing in the water.nnThat said, I personally still prefer the Orakei Basin Walkway, but this is still a pleasant and quieter alternative.

Excellent walk, some parts on a deck, other parks on gravel and some parts even in the tidal zone. Some parts have easy walkable access, others some steep slopes, and yet others with steps enough to challenge your fitness level. Overall a wonderful marsh/lagoon walk with views that can change depending on both the weather and the tides. Some benches dotted along the way - restrooms WC however were not that obvious if any. Enjoyable and overall well maintained, with exception of the tidal area, it is still a walk that's well worth its meander.nTwo thumbs up!

Hobson Bay Walkway is a tranquil trail with beautiful coastal views and a refreshing breeze. Ideal for a peaceful walk or jog, it connects nature and city life perfectly. A hidden gem for quiet escapes and waterfront serenity.

It was very 30 minutes walk. Very easy walk. I guess you can bike here too. Can have a good family walk. Very popular coastal walking route along Hobson Bay, connecting Remuera with Ōrākei Bay village. The pathway is a mixture of sealed / metal track and boardwalk, and is suitable for prams. It's fairly flat. Continue exploring, join up with the path looping around Ōrākei Basin, an ancient volcanic crater. Beautiful Nature

I enjoyed the sections of the walkway I could access given it was high tide. I guess it would have been helpful to have signs at the walkway entrances regarding the tidal impact in completing the entire walk. Another beautiful and well maintained nature walk within an urban environment. Kudos to the Council for keeping these precious green reserves!
