Great location near Takapuna beach, cafes & restaurants and motorway. Modern rooms, spacious and comfortable beds. Surprisingly not noisy at all, doors & windows very sound proof from street traffic. I’m a light sleeper and slept just fine despite being on a corner of a somewhat busy road. Overall great value.
We had a great stay, modern rooms with comfy beds and wonderful air con in the hot summer. We had family arriving from the UK to join us and staff were very helpful when their flight was delayed. Everything you need in a room to be clean and comfortable and enjoy Takapuna at your doorstep.
We stayed in one of the family room next to the motorway. The room is okay, bed is comfortable and large bathroom. Staffs are very friendly. Window sills, door sills, curtains and bathroom needs a good clean. By saying this the Sauna is the winner on this trip We will be coming back, and hopefully staying in other room facing the beach side.
Our family stayed here for a week in Jan 23 and also booked rooms for 3 family/guests for one weekend. This was reserved 6 months in advance and the communication with Ajin, the manager was excellent. Carnmore met all our expectations and more and staff were always helpful and obliging. All our guests and family staying enjoyed the accommodation and facilities. Very convenient, great coffee near by and easily walkable to Takapuna Beach. It reminds me of a fine boutique hotel. Thank you Ajin and team for a wonderful stay over a very special family weekend.
Me and my husband stayed 4 nights and also I got a room for my blind nan and friend who visited from England. We were very well taken care of and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. At a very reasonable price point of $180-230 a night this place exceeded my expectations. Very comfortable beds, flat screen TV, good wifi and aircon and also my favorite dressing gowns! It has a kettle, microwave and fridge for basic needs and so close to takapuna central to take advantage of all the amazing eateries. Also minutes from the beach. This hotel has been renovated and I think they have done a great job and I can really empathize with the stress of taking on such a big project. We would deffiantely stay again and recommend visiting family to stay here! Some of the reviews are a little harsh on here and you have to remember this is not a $500 a night city hotel this is a very reasonable clean and tidy stay near takapuna Beach.
Nice big room with good comfortable bed, great shower etc. But the windows were full of cobwebs, and there's a fair bit of road noise, being on a very busy road. Overall the place is a little bit shabby.Rooms: 3/5
Located far from everything The closest restaurant more than 1 km away same with nearest bar, grocery store and no breakfast at the hotel Staff unfriendly doesn't care if you are handicapped and only have elevator in one of the buildings but you can only get a room there if you force the staff to carrying the luggage then you can get a room with elevator If you turn on the ceiling lights in bathroom it burns the fuse within minutes so use only the mirror light It's a steep hill from the building with elevator to lobby and the road The pool is not heated and you need to walk up a steep long staircase to get there Rooms: The size is ok but lacking have only a normal knife, forks and spoon no sharp knife etc Nearby activities: The real beach is more than a kilometer away And nothing else to do Walkability: You need to walk to everything as the hotel is located between busstops Food & drinks: No food or drinks at the hotel and more than 1 kilometer to nearest restaurants Noteworthy details: If you have any disability don't book this hotel as you will have no support and obstacles wherever you go
The customer service is wonderful. Notes for booking: If you want the newly renovated rooms you have to ask for it. PROS: 13 mins walk to takapuna shops 5 min walk to the beach 2min walk to Speciality coffee shop Easy access to the motorway Simple pool After hours box available When you make a complaint on the day they fix it! CONS and notes for bookings: Room 211 - Left Building this is the room with all the reviews of mould in the bathroom walls, blinds and duck tape holding the window with a plank of wood. Chipped wooden doors and the room smells old and damp. Say NO to this room. We got placed in it and realised this is the room of poor reviews. But they did move us to a better room same building at the top of the stairs. The property is simple and basic and is wonderful location in Takapuna or North Shore area.
The rooms were not clean the toilet had black stuff underneath. The room service team was never on time to clean the rooms and also didn’t do a good job. Dirty carpets and leave the rubbish there. Outside the building has so many mold and stairs to rooms are disgusting. The hygiene and cleaning is horrible. Pool was contaminated. Overall service was bad! The staff talk rudely when I asked them questions politely. Absolutely do not recommend.
A big group of us stayed 2 nights. Rooms were great, staff very friendly and helpful. Close to amenities . Really enjoyed our stay.Rooms: 5/5
