This is a great affordable central spot for accommodation in Brisbane. Recently stayed overnight. The room was lovely and clean. Great spot too! They are doing some works on the river so the board walk only takes you so far. But everything is very central. Staff were nice on arrival. We didn't have much interaction with them but they were friendly enough and said hello to you in passing. The view was amazing! We had a river view and overlooked the story bridge. We also had the buffet breakfast and it was nice. Huge selection. A nice way to end our stay.
Met at reception by a sulky girl although there were two more pleasant girls there. Room was a good size and had an excellent bathroom but was as cold as charity. Pool/spa was closed ,no coffee service in lobby on two days and the restaurant was in a marquee with hard kitchen furniture.$30 was taken from my credit card without reason nor explanation after I left. The hotel seemed to have few guests. Rooms: Spacious and quite comfortable Nearby activities: In Brisbane CBD your life on the footpaths is at continued risk as dozens of ebikes scatter the pedestrians..they should stick to the roads.
The Stamford Plaza was a lovely place to stay, we did however have a couple of issues. When we arrived to check in around 2:30pm our room wasn't ready and was told they weren't sure when it would be ready and when our room was ready an hour and a half later the air conditioner didn't work, as the weather was cold outside so was our room and it didn't warm up even though the temperature was set at higher than normal. We requested some help to sort it out and were told someone would come and fix it, it took another hour for us to call down and again request maintenance support, finally they came to check it out. We were told to wait 15-20 minutes and if the room didn't warm up the maintenance man was going to call us, 30 minutes went by and we again called and said it wasn't working, reception said they would send an extra blanket up, this was not acceptable and asked for a room change. We got the room change and could finally relax 2 and a half hours after we checked in. Our stay after that was perfect and would consider staying there again.
This used to be my hotel of choice in the city. However, after my last stay, I will not be returning. The rooms are looking particularly tired now, they've switched to a cheap line of amenities, service standards have dropped. It would appear that they are on an economy drive, which is not something I want to experience when I'm meant to be staying in a five star hotel and I'm most certainly paying five star prices. It's not good enough. Rooms: They are looking tired and very worn. Thin bedsheets etc, marked carpets.
Lovely room overlooking the bridge and that’s where the lovely part of the hotel ends. Comfy beds and great shower. Concierge very pleasant. Rude staff, ridiculously lengthy check in, poor coffee and I went to reception 3 times in 24 hours because my key wouldn’t work.
We've stayed at this place semi regularly for the last 20 years. Since the apparent renovation we were severely disappointed. It's definitely not 5 star like it used to be. The service is pretty poor. Room wasn't ready upon check-in. Then no parking available on site....parking was 2 blocks away. Buffet breakfast was very stingy. Very few options for gluten free requirements. Felt a bit like the old SIZZLER buffet franchise. And then the completely weird decor selection for the renovated restaurant all covered in very strange cow cartoons. Stamford Brisbane you've made a wrong turn and it feels like you are a long way from where you were but not in a good way. So disappointing. It's unlikely we will spend our money here in the future
Location and views are great! Room is fine, decor is tasteful. Two on site restaurants. Gave me a drink voucher too. Mini bar is reasonably priced although I didn’t take anything from it, they charged me for a bottle of water got the charge removed Only thing I’d recommend the management to do is dust issue. Dusting and cleaning air ducts. I wiped night stand clean with baby wipe and the next morning it is covered with dust.
Vintage hotel! Very classy ! Service is great ! Quick and efficient check in and check out ! Hotel has beautiful views on the bridge especially from The rooms that are on higher floors. From the floor 18 views were gorgeous. A huge marble bath with a tv inside and a shower. Location is very central and easy accessible from public transport. Great breakfast buffet with lots of options and sittings inside and by outside by the shore. Excellent barista and coffee is extremely good !!! Too bad that the swirl pool was not working ! I was really looking into that experience and that didn’t happen.
The room has generous lay out including bathroom with Brisbane river view. Every single corner has made our stay so cozy and comfortable and feel just like home. The breakfast buffet along with the hotel location were another plus points why we choose to stay here. Definitely will be back and highly recommended if you are looking for accomodation with high quality of 5 star hotel with affordable price tag. Food & drinks: Walking distance to world class fine dining along River Side Brisbane
Left feeling like I didn’t get what I paid for. This should be a 3 star hotel at best. The room itself was good. But dusty tables, made in China toiletries like soap, shampoo, conditioner. No bath robes. Service wasn’t great. Reception staff don’t smile and don’t explain any of the hotel amenities. Paid $300 for the night but feeling like the stay was worth probably around $120.
