Novotel Auckland Ellerslie

Stayed at the hotel for a couple of nights. The hotel was ok will all basic amenities. We got a room with twin queen beds. The room was nice and tidy. Did notice that the bathroom would fog up really bad when having shower. We were on first floor and could see the roof from the window and it was all bird poop on the window. Had buffet breakfast the next day food was nice and tasty. There was a good selection of breads and jams. The pancakes were really nice. Enjoyed that I could request the way I wanted from the kitchen. Would recommended it for business and leisure stay. Right in the motorway and close ish to the CBD

It was a nice stay - the staff were all lovely. The room was clean though some bathroom fixtures were pretty old and worn expected for a hotel in our budget. The buffet breakfast was better than some others we've had, but still as expected passable, not terrible.nnBeds were comfy and alternative parking when the hotel carpark was full is right next door. It was good.

We enjoyed our stay totally, good location, friendly and helpful staff and a very good breakfast buffet. The only inconvenience was caused at arrival when our room wasn't ready at 14:00 and still not at 14:30 when we already had to stress the situation out a bit and were finally given another room which was ready. Another issue was with the outdated TV interface where you can't connect your devices wirelessly to stream something the TV isn't a smart one so you don't have any apps on hand there and the only viable option to connect was through a HDMI cable which you obviously don't carry around with you just for the case if you would need it. Unfortunately the reception couldn't provide us with such a cable when we asked for help that we don't have one, maybe having a few at their disposal would be a fair solution to this matter as hey, it's 2026 and everything is supposed to be smart devices all around these days. All in all we had a really good stay and will be happy to come again if the opportunity arises. Cheers.

The service wasn't best cause unfortunately we asked for towels and they said they couldn't deliver it to the room. The welcoming was great, they were able to accommodate our earler check in, however after settling into the room, the housekeeping team walked in to the room, I think they still had to finish with cleaning the room cause after a while we noticed that the bin bags were missing. The morning after the housekeeping staff knocked at the door asking what time we were going to check out when we had already requested a late check out at reception. Rooms were great but I have to admit, I experienced better service in other 4 stars hotels.

I stayed for two nights while delivering an event nearby and chose this hotel for its convenient location near the rail station—just outside the city but easy to access.nnThe room was comfortable, the bed very nice, and the overall space well-kept. The property is a combined Novotel and ibis, offering a range of facilities. I also appreciated the separate café area apart from the main restaurant—an excellent spot to relax or work between commitments.nnBreakfast offered a good variety, and dinners were tasty, though a little on the pricey and smaller side. On Saturday night, the hotel offered a $69 NZD buffet, though I opted for the à la carte menu.nnThe staff were genuinely lovely, and their warmth really made the stay.nnOverall, a comfortable and friendly stay in a convenient location—with a bit more focus on member recognition, it could be excellent.
