The Parnell Hotel & Conference Centre

First impressions are everything they say. We were welcomed very warmly and optimistic about our stay because of this. It has a feeling of being under renovation as different parts of the building is aged/well used while our room was modern. Beautiful view.nAfter the first day our interactions with staff seemed to be a little flat. Not sure why. We had the feeling that we were booked in as guests and paid so now there is no need to put in the same welcoming energy. The restaurant is good. Reasonably priced and nice food and coffee. Only one out of 8? streaming programs on the television were able to be utilised. Comfortable downtime is also important for us. A bedside lamp wasn't working.nOther than that it's a good location. Shops within walking distance and not far from the rose gardens. 24/7 reception. I guess I would say it's worth the price. A feeling of being appreciated and welcomed throughout our stay is important to us, not just the food or amenities.

Stayed one night, just ideal room size for our family of 3 adults and 2 children. Amazing view of Auckland from the balcony. Restaurant and conference room across from main hotel. The hotel is not far from Auckland CBD and other attractions. No concerns regarding parking the hotel accommodates well.nUnfortunately, the weather wasn't kind for us but we still enjoyed our stay I would definitely return.

The staff are all very nice. Nothing too much trouble. Lended umbrellas when asked. Not their fault but the last night there was some sort of fight at about 4 am. You can't blame the staff for that. I would stay again.

This hotel should get NO stars. It's only benefit is its location. No water was provided at all for the tea etc. Despite notification the beds were only made on the second day. Not comfortable bed. Food was also quite bad. Parking is not practical being quite sloppy. Noise can easily be heard from neighboring rooms. Customer service is just OK

Room was extremely tired and could benefit from a full renovation, and at the least a deep clean. We found it difficult to deal with the staff on reception. The room was being paid for by a business and they had the business credit card on file but still wanted us to pay for the room. When we said we will check what’s happening, he asked if he could take the room cost from our credit card also held and we said no. Whilst out we received an authorisation request from our bank to pay them. Even borrowing the umbrellas was uncomfortable with the warnings about being charged if not returned. That could be handled better. We have been there previously for a conference but not stayed and that was a good experience.
