I came to Ibis just for a short one night stay. Upon arriving at about 3.30pm i was very warmly greeted by the lovely lady at the front desk i believe she was the manager and im so sorry i didn't catch your name! She was absolutely fantastic, very bubbly and clearly loves her job. She is an absolute asset to your hotel. She also very kindly arranged a dinner reservation and an extra pillow for me. Your customer service skills shine through amazingly and i hope you continue to make peoples days just as you made mine that afternoon. :
I recently stayed at the Ibis Ellerslie for a week on a business trip, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The highlight of the hotel was definitely the service—the staff was consistently friendly, attentive, and eager to assist with any needs. They really made my stay more comfortable.nnThe room itself was clean and comfortable, although it felt a bit dated and was quite small. The bed was great—very comfortable, which made for restful nights. However, there were a few drawbacks. There was no microwave in the room, which would have been convenient for longer stays, and no free parking available, which added extra cost and hassle.nnOverall, the service really stood out, and while the facilities could use some updates, the Ibis Ellerslie is a solid choice for a business stay if you’re looking for a comfortable bed and good service.
Good size for an Ibis. Clean quiet room. Good staff on reception. Great value for money in a great location. Why turn right for the more expensive Novotel - when you have a bed that is very comfortable at a better price when you turn left and can still access all the restaurants if you want.
This hotel is located on the fringe of Auckland CBD and its close vicinity to the motorways made it an ideal place for my team to stay there. The fact that there are plenty of car parks first come, first serve made it a no-brainer too.nnThere's a bar and restaurant downstairs but the food and drinks are mediocre at best, and pricey too. Perhaps, it's due to the difficulty of hiring staff, at times, there's one staff that needs to be Jack-of-all-trades and as a result, quality suffers. For us who are regulars at the hotel, we have accepted the reality and resorting to use apps to get food delivered to the hotel.nnThe way the hotel is designated, it shares the common area with the Novotel - this hotel is supposedly to be higher end, but in actual fact, the hotel rooms in general badly needing TLC. The common area is akin to the waiting area of a train station and it's soulless.nnThis trip, my colleague called me up, wanting me to take a look at what he thought was outside his hotel room. To much my horror, and that I have confirmed his assessment, there were human poos outside the corridor. That's related to Health & Safety and so, my colleague approached the reception lady an Asian lady to inform her of the discovery. She was in disbelief and whether she informed the Housekeeping to deal with the matter or not was outside our scope then.nnI was an Accor member for many years, and over the years staying here, I could say with objectivity that the standard at both Ibis and Novotel Ellerslie are going downhill. Knock on wood that the management is taking on board the feedback from the guests to rectify the situation before it's at the point of no return.
I was 2nd guessing myself booking after reading the reviews especially because my wife and daughter were coming and small rooms would not suite us. But upon entering the hotel room we realised the rooms were pretty much on par for size! Not sure about the complaints I’ve seen but We had the king size bedroom and it was perfectly sized! Do keep in mind my daughter is 2 and can sleep in the bed with my wife and I, so it wasn’t an issue. But size wise we thought it was perfectly fine for our needs. Check-in was the best as the lady at the front desk made sure we were well informed about parking, the restaurant and the room. She also gave my daughter a teddy which my daughter adores wish we had gotten her name! The restaurant food is so delicious it now tops our food ranking as the best food we’ve ever had. Only downfall we feel is that parking is first in best dressed. So it means you pay for parking that you’re not promised and if you happen to miss out then you have to move to another location across the road and pay for parking there. In my eyes that’s double dipping into the people’s pockets. I think the car park should be reserved for guest staying and should cap out/ be limited to the amount purchased. So if you are paying for parking then you’re getting that service. And if people want to eat at the restaurant then they should park across the road and walk over through the back entrance. Cleaning staff were amazing and kept the rooms very tidy!nnOverall the stay was very good! Rooms were well suited to us and food was amazing. Would love to stay here if we could be promised parking lol!
