Melbourne Lodge

Would recommend this place to stay. Very well located to walk into town. Has good parking. Our room was modern, clean and well equipped. All the staff are extremely helpful. There is a guest lounge with views across the lake. Good value.

Close to town, but that's about all I'll say that's positive. Paid $220 for a twin share room in a busy weekend, should have paid $250 for something much better. Room smelt a bit like wee, door to the hallway had gaps all around it so could hear everything. Twin beds were small. Good value if you get it for $100-$150...not at $220.

Really enjoyed my stay here. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. The hotel offers washing facilities for a small fee, which was super convenient. The rooms are a bit dated, but they’re spacious and comfortable. Great location too—only about an 8-minute walk into town. Would happily stay again!

Overall, our stay was ok. It was within walking distance of the city center, but there was quite a big hill between the two. Unfortunately, our room was facing an elementary school, so we were woken up around 7 am due to kids yelling and screaming, as there is only a chain link fence between the properties. Additionally, with our room facing the Sun most of the day, it heated up quickly, and the management continually opened our curtains and turned off the AC when they serviced the room, which made the room warmer than we’d like. Additionally, while we reserved a room that said 1 King-2 twins, we did not realize that would mean either or, so we ended up with 2 twins when we were on our honeymoon.

The service was outstanding. We were able to use the visitors' lounge, which has a fireplace, kitchen facilities, a fridge to store your provisions, and a drinking water tap. Late checkout wasn't available as they were full but we were able to store our luggage and were even offered bathrooms and towels to freshen up before our flight. Very much appreciated the helpful friendly staff.
