We had a very good experience staying at Hampshire in Queenstown. It’s great value for money and super close to the CBD — just a short walk to the Skyline Gondola, Wharf, and the famous Fergburger. Parking is provided, which is a huge plus in Queenstown!nnThe staff were friendly and the check-in and check-out process was smooth and easy. The place was clean, well-maintained, and the interior looked modern and fresh — definitely felt comfortable throughout our stay.nnA few minor things to note: there’s no microwave, and if you need cooking utensils, they can be hired for NZD 10 with a small deposit. You’ll also need to provide your card for a bond for any accidental charges. The hot water sometimes took a bit of time to heat up, but not a big issue. As a group of five, we noticed only a few toiletries were provided — we didn’t ask for more, but you probably could if needed. Also, no facial tissues, just toilet paper — not a problem, just something to keep in mind.nnOverall, everything else was fantastic — location, comfort, and cleanliness all top-notch. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Queenstown!
Booked campsite. Had 24*7 full access to kitchen. We'll maintained. Stayed a few times and no complain. Dog friendly in van or in tents. Just let the reception know in advance. 10-15 min walk to town.
We stayed at a powered site. The location was great super close to Skyline, easy walk to town, but it looked like a lot of works was underway - no kids playground, construction fences everywhere, bathroom amenities looked like temporary pods? Sites were very close together too, not much space between a lot of the vans. But, showers were hot and clean, laundry was clean and easy to use, staff were friendly, and the holiday park was mostly quiet up the end we were and was easy to navigate.
Location was great, only a few minutes walk to the main shops, restaurants, boardwalk etc. However, the area was not very nice as it seemed under construction and not like any of the other holiday parks we’ve stayed in. My biggest issue was the hot water… we waited up to half an hour multiple times for hot water. We notified staff on the first night and they advised that they would send someone but didn’t, so we had to deal with the problem for 4 more nights. When I’m paying a couple hundred dollars per night I expect hot water?? Overall the room was fine but not incredible. Quite disappointed would probably not come back
We stayed in the superior 1 bedroom with view for 7 nights Xmas Eve to NY Eve. We were in room 20 which was right next to the kitchen block. The room looks exactly like the pictures. Beautiful and clean. There is a notice in the bathroom to run the hot water as it may take awhile to get hot. We didn’t experience this, we had hot water in less than 30seconds, great water pressure in the shower. Beds were very soft and comfortable, pillows were a little big for myself only. We had excellent wifi here with no problems except on our last night the internet would drop out and come back on a few times when watching Disney but no complaints like I see with others.nOur room got serviced once on day 3 also had no problems with that as your able to replenish towels and toiletries at reception and we are tidy people anyway. Just to note the shampoo/conditioner 2 in 1 is a small sachet packet it is best to bring your own as we do anyway. In this room you get 2 teaspoons, cups, glasses, tea towel, tea, coffee, sugar and there’s dishwashing liquid supplied. We brought our own cutlery for the kitchen however we didn’t bring a saucepan, frying pan etc. We were kindly supplied a saucepan as we were only going to use the bbq when we did cook. I would recommend hiring a key or bringing everything you need as there is nothing except 1 roasting dish in the kitchen. A chopping board would’ve been handy but there isn’t any. 1 of the microwaves didn’t work which would be good to replace or remove as I was wondering why my food wasn’t heating yet no one said anything around me. The kitchen is large and spacious and surprisingly worked well even when the accomodation was full. Some guests are quite messy and don’t clean up after themselves properly but the kitchen is cleaned in the morning from staff. There is a vending machine in the kitchen which is handy for a snack or drink if need be.nThere’s 2 bbqs however on Xmas day we tried to use one and after 10minutes the gas bottle ran out. There is 2 gas bottles chained to the bbq on each and they were all empty on Xmas day and we were the first to use them as soon as the rain stopped. This was very poor as we were told that a few people would use these on Xmas day so there might be a wait. Others were contemplating getting a gas bottle swapped but couldn’t as they’re chained and it’s Xmas day so only swap garages open. This would be our only complaint as we had to use a saucepan to cook some of what we had for Christmas. We did notify staff the next day and they were filled when we used them next.nThe day before New Year’s Eve many more young guests turned up and were quite loud. The groups would use the picnic table and bbq area which was right next to us, so just to note the loud people at this time of year but it was only loud for us when they used this area as we were next to it.nLocation is obviously the best with a beautiful view of the remarkables which would be stunning in winter. You also get a car park and to save on costs you can easily walk into town. My lazy kids didn’t really like the hill walk back though. The aircon works extremely well and this would be a cosy place to stay in winter. Kids are already missing the room and want to return.nAll staff are helpful and friendly and I would recommend staying here.
