This review is re campsite booking, not the rooms. I stayed here a couple of years ago and it was a really cute place. Clearly management has changed - the bathrooms weren't neat as before, random items and trash roaming around the premises, none of the stoves worked properly and there were 16 of them!, the kitchen was not hygienic as in the past. For the price we pay, honestly, we deserve more as consumers.nGreat location though!
Avoid if staying in a campervan or tent. I don't think they care at all about providing a decent space and facilities for those in campers. Bathrooms are a long walk and are just temporary buildings, and only a few stalls for what could be up to hundreds of people staying. They get so much use that it's constantly filthy and usually a line. The stalls even have privacy concerns when the floor and ceiling are wet and reflective.nnThe kitchen is drafty and packed, with cheap and minimal furniture, with as mentioned here as well we couldn't find any elements that got hot enough to boil water, they only got warm at best if you could find working ones at all.nnThe vans are double packed together, so this place is clearly just a soulless money grab by the owners. To think they charge a premium for such a temporary feeling encampment is a joke. No care taken to provide anything worth the money you'll be spending. The excuse is clearly that it's centrally located, but I'd have rather not prepaid and weighed up options better.nnStaff were apparently pleasant according to my partner but wouldn't want to give any more credit than 1 star here when as a kiwi, I'm ashamed this is the impression we would be giving tourists coming into the beautiful queenstown
I was in a motel unit and it had a magnificent view. The unit is a bit worn but serviceable. The kitchen tools - pots etc are very basic.nI had a few issues with the room and they were rectified the same day I reported it. Reception staff were helpful.
We stayed here for 3 nights in a motorhome and honestly wish we hadn't pre-booked and paid.nThere was excavation work happening during our stay, which I understand happens, however we were not advised of this when checking in.nWe were originally designated a site next with a tree and post on one side which our van wouldn't have fit under and another van so close we could have stepped from one to the other without needing to step on the grass.nWe moved across and thankfully the young lady at reception was fine with this.nThere was plenty of space in the park but they seemed to cram everyone in one area, and I mean cram! The sites look like they were originally space out as normal but they have put another site in between each one.nThe toilets and showers are in the form of demountable buildings and the worst we had during our 5 week trip.nThe best part about this park is the proximity to town but I would give this up for more privacy, space and decent facilities - especially when it was the dearest park we stayed at, and there's a new park near the airport that had a stay 3 pay 2 offer.
Good campsite if you want to be close to the city. Very warm bathrooms which was great since it was so cold.nnUnfortunately the campsite is just next to a car park and it was a bit noisy at night.
