As a dedicated and loyal customer who has subscribed to their service since 2017, I have observed a consistent pattern of delays over the past eight years. While these delays have generally been tolerable, I have noticed a concerning escalation in their frequency. On several occasions, deliveries have been rescheduled without prior notice, resulting my 2 bottles were left emptied. This situation has left me feeling frustrated and uncertain about the company’s commitment to providing reliable services. I am deeply disappointed by the current state of affairs and urge the company to implement immediate improvements to restore our trust and confidence.
I have had a really bad experience with this company. In instances they really late to deliver and have told us that it could take up to two weeks to deliver the gas and this is in avondale. Their prices keep increasing and the quality of services is going the other way.nThis is not the first time that has happened. Saw an advertisment on google which is a hotline advertising something else and this is what I get.nnOrder received, thank you. We expect your order to be with you as soon as possible. We expect your order to be with you within 5 working days, may be up to 2 weeks in some areas.nnPlease note that this is our busiest time of the year. This may mean orders take a bit longer to be delivered due to the influx of orders.nnOnce the order is assigned to the driver you will receive an emailed alert a day before delivery.
I’ve been a customer since late 2021, but unfortunately, the delivery service has become increasingly unreliable. I ordered a gas bottle on June 11th, but it was never delivered. After running out of gas, I had to call the company again, and the bottle was finally delivered on July 11th—an entire month later. Considering the delivery is from Onehunga, I find this delay unacceptable. This experience reflects a serious lapse in service and communication. I hope the company takes steps to improve its reliability and customer support.
Very Disappointed with Matagas – Poor Service and No AccountabilitynnI've been using Matagas for a while and have seen their gas bottle prices increase from $125 to $138, and now $147 — all within about six months. While price increases are understandable these days, what’s unacceptable is the poor service I recently experienced.nnI placed an order on 23/06/2025 and paid straight away. After nearly two weeks of waiting, I finally received an email confirming that my delivery would happen on 08/07/2025. I stayed home all day. Around lunchtime, I heard the Matagas truck at my neighbor’s house and assumed mine would be next. But then I received an email saying, “Your LPG has been delivered.”nnI immediately went outside to check — and nothing had been delivered.nnI replied directly to that email. Later, I received a response saying, they didn’t know what happened — with no effort to check or resolve the issue. No explanation, no follow-up.nnSo I called. They said they’d “look into it” and call me back. Nobody did. I called again, and they changed my order status back to “processing” and promised delivery in 1–2 business days. Now it’s 13/07/2025 — and I still haven’t received anything. No bottle, no proper update, no accountability.nnI’ve been patient and reasonable, but this experience has been beyond frustrating.nnTo existing customers: Be sure to stay home during delivery, and don’t trust the “delivered” email — go outside and confirm it yourself.nnTo new customers: I strongly recommend looking for another gas supplier. Matagas is unreliable, unresponsive, and careless when it comes to basic customer service.
Being a first time customer using gas, I found Matagas competitive in pricing. However, since joining the pricing has increased 3 times in the last 6 months & the service has declined. I am currently still waiting for a delivery which was placed on July 4th, only being told “we will update you when we find a delivery person” multiple times. There seems to be a pattern of this lately reading the latest reviews which is disappointing and will be changing providers.
