I popped by HobbyMaster while travelling around NZ from Sydney with a mate — such a great vibe! Everyone working there was super friendly and welcoming. We were impressed by how much space there was, and it’s got a really chill, fun atmosphere. Keen to come back next time we’re in town to play some board games. Highly recommend dropping in!

Great place for groups of people to go and have a safe space to enjoy games with like minded people. They have everything you could want/ need if you want to expand your game decks. From full sets of warhammer, magic the gathering and family friendly games too. Everything is priced competitively. Very large selection of games to buy. They also have a loyalty scheme where you get 5% of your total purchase as store credit everytime and this does not expire.

Had a very poor experience when ordering online. I specifically asked for a non signature post and they sent it out with signature i thought nothing of it because it was very clear then I get a notification it couldn't be delivered. I emailed informing them of how inconvenient this is being i live so far from a post office and work during opening hours to pick up my package. They didn't even apologize for the error and instead told me they redirected it, a couple days later the same thing as if they completely ignored my complaint. I'm now stuck with no order, held up in a post office I'll need to take leave from work just to pick up. These guys need some serious attention to their customer service for online orders.

Probably the best selection for MTG singles. Not sure how I feel about the $2 fee for pick up orders but also understand this isn’t a big business so might be necessary. Well attended pre-release events and staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

Best board game shop I have been to. Lots of tables to play games. Friendly and helpful staff. Great games library, where we played wyrmspan. Great game for the whole family. My wife and two kids were very happy. Looked like a great group of war gamers here. Wish I lived in the local area or at least Auckland to take advantage of such a great store.
