Kolmar Inn

I don’t like to be one to just be negative and I don’t want to make it sound like I’m attacking this hotel. However, the fact that it is considered a 3-star hotel is ridiculous. I dont know how it has such good reviews being rated as a 3-star hotel. I think it would be pushing it to even call it a 2-star hotel. If you are just looking for somewhere cheap to stay near the airport, still keep looking there are other and better options out there. We would have checked out and went somewhere else within 10 min of arriving, but just spent over 2 hours in Auckland traffic and just wanted to sleep. Which we didn’t do because the bed was totally uncomfortable. The area is not nice; we could tell that visually and were told specifically not to leave anything in the car. There is a very strong smell from the restaurant that’s attached. The room itself was tiny and not clean. The shower head was attached with zip ties. They don’t even have proper room keys, the room number is just written on a white card with permanent marker. Maybe at one point this used to be a nice place to stay, but right now it isn’t so just keep looking for somewhere else to stay.

It doesn’t look much but once you get in it all changes. Staff is very friendly and helpful, rooms are very clean and well equipped. The authentic Indian restaurant in the building has beautiful food and great service. We will be back for sure

The first room we got had clearly been smoked in, but we got a replacement after asking, though the receptionist said he didn't notice anything. Neither room was very clean, with stains on chairs, carpet, sideboard, crumbs on floor and sideboards, and a pretty disgusting looking phone. The pictures are definitely misleading. Bed and sheets were very clean though.

Room was standard but unfriendly reception service and in the morning we had no hot water. There was no one at reception and no one answered the out of hours mobile number. My wife and I ended up having a cold shower before leaving. I used their online form to complain about the shower and have had no response. Definitely won't be staying here again.

The room we booked was significantly smaller than the photos shown online. However, the bathroom was really nice, the service was good and it was a good location for what we required coldplay concert as it was a good inbetween for eden park & the Airport overall 3.5 rounded up.
