CHT David Lange Care Home

Both our parents were residents at David Lange care home for the final six years of their lives. Dad passed away in March 2021 6 days before his 90th Birthday and mum on 15 September 2023 after her 87th birthday in August.nnWe can’t thank enough the staff for the love, care and comfort they afforded our parents during their entire stay at this facility.nnThe care they provided mum over the last 30 months since passing away of our dad was special. With Dementia quickly catching up on mum, her appetite was getting very poor during the final 6 months. The RNs and the carers were always at hand assisting mum especially during mealtimes trying to help her to eat or drink something to keep her going. The RNs and unit coordinators kept us updated regularly on mum’s condition.nnThe compassion, love and comfort care provided by everyone; at times in difficult circumstances was second to none. Yesterday 15 October was 1 month anniversary of mum’s passing and while remembering mum, we would also like to remember all the wonderful staff at David Lange care home and say BIG THANK YOU to Reshmi, Rehana, Raman, Lisa, Jane, Sunee, Langi, Nimfa, Shiguftah, Deepshika, Sony, Vidya, Shireen & Kitchen staff and Luke & Activities team. Please accept our sincerest apology for any misspelling of the names and if we have missed to mention anyone rest assured it was not intentional.nnThank you, Ivan, for all your support and understanding throughout mum and dad's stay and also for going the extra mile to provide the special /lip mattress for mum during her final days. It was comforting to see that you and your team were taking all possible steps to provide for mum’s care and safety and letting her spend her final days with the David Lange Care Home FAMILY!!!nnFinally, our special thanks to 2 ultimate professionals; Shalveni and Shino for attending to and meeting all our requests, having mum’s care and interest at the fore-front and keeping our family always updated on mum’s condition. My elderly and frail in-laws went into David Lange Care Home due to illness that could not be managed at home.Over the years the compassion, care and empathy the team showed was second to none.I am extremely grateful to the Gemini Ward team who went above and beyond to help and meet with the challenging situations they were in.I am impressed with the quality of service, cleanliness and empathy shown to my loved ones during the twilight years of their lives.Ivan, Shalvini, Shino and the team, you all are incredible. I have recently stayed at David Lange care home beautiful place with lovely staff, home made food cooking in kitchen with delicious manu every day laundry service, activities,games and Bingo and snooker table with music and crafts sessions to get through your day.

This is such a great place with lovely staff. My mum attends the daycare program and always looks forward to going as there are alot of activities that are catered to her interests. We also get transport pickup and drop off for a small fee which Is so convenient.

There was no option to give this place zero stars or I would've after what has happened to my grandmother here.nJust to give you an idea of why I'm rating this place so poorly, my grandmother due to her illnesses has been granted a few days a week, for a few hours so my grandfather and other family members could have a break at home because she requires 24 hours care.nShe's been going there for some time so the staff are obviously aware of her condition and are able to visually see how unstable she is and that she requires assistance to walk etc.nYesterday we were advised that she has fallen over somehow and by her head, she requires stitches on her eyebrow and has lacerations to the side of her eyes.nIn this situation I would've thought the smart thing to do being medical care professionals, would've been to call an ambulance considering she was bleeding profusely, instead they called my elderly grandfather to come and get her.nIn a panic he drove there to find his wife bandaged up in pain, with no real idea of what happened and how this happened as no one can recall.nI'm absolutely appalled to know that this has happened to my fragile little grandmother and I want answers asap!
