Family members should not have to feel uncomfortable or get riled up because of questions that sound like it’s an investigation when trying to visit loved ones. A certain staff member described as a large white lady needs to work on her attitude as on how to approach in a courteous manner. Also note there has been a number of times staff are absent from the desk, also in future reference family members should have a right to speak to their loved ones on the phone especially if living overseas. If they are paying for services to stay in your care then a cordless phone would be a good addition. I hope the higher ups read this and understand that there are issues that need to be addressed. It’s simple to the staff if you don’t like your job find something else!

all i can say is not enough samoan translators for my grandpa! he is in the dementia unit and he only speaks and only understands samoan and yet no one can understand when he speaks and they only give him basic demands. I believe this could affect his health as what if he feels something is wrong with him??? how can he even communicate??. not enough effort to cater to those who speak different languages.nnother than that great service , great food service and good lounge area

Fantastic dementia unit that charge nurse Elamma and her staff meet the residence individual needs. The building might not be new but the care is exceptional. The residence are safe and the staff know the residents well. Highly recommend anyone needing dementia care to consider Hillcrest.
