Seamless collection and even better drop off, the car was an electric Tesla and it was awesome. Great way to see what an electric car was like, amazingly cheap to charge and didnt experience any battery anxiety.. Well placed superchargers for where we travelled to and planning was easy using the navigator which highlighted charging options along the route.

Seamless drop off the car back to airport. The pick up process took sometime due to festive crowd. If you plan for outskirts long journey driving, don’t pick their mystery car package. Chances they offered you an EV which is not suit for long journey drive.  The upgrade to hybrid or petrol car comes with another top up offered which depends of the option that available during pick up. Probably this is part of their marketing strategy.

What I thought would be an easy weekend car hire, was made very complicated by Budget. After their multiple attempts to guilt me into the extra insurance, which came to more than the rental, I found the inside of the can stank. The air con smelled like old socks and it had not been cleaned inside at all. The steering wheel was not aligned either, when straight it pointed into incoming traffic. It was late and during a storm. The wipers didn't clean well and the windows kept fogging up as the air con could not be used due to the smell. Very disappointed with this experience, especially after being pushed so hard on the different insurances that I was told I would need.

Positive experience with the Avis Christchurch team. Easy to locate the airport desk, pretty quick to fill in the paperwork and some handy tips on best way to get into the downtown area. Toyota RAV4 was in perfect condition and was nice to drive. Dropped back to Queenstown airport after a road trip south.

Everything went smooth, and drop off was crazy easy.nnOnly feedback I have was about the vehicle - they trunk space had that hanging protector thing that basically just got in the way of all our luggage and we didnt know what to do with it the whole trip. Would've loved to just leave that thing behind. What is that even for anyway!?!nnNonetheless, great car rental experience!
