Botany Library

Great library and very clean and helpful staff. BUT it is so noisy in there. Not whispers but people speaking on top of their voices. Even in the quiet room, there is not enough signs to remind people it is a quiet room and they still have loud conversations and laugh loud. Its so distracting.

Please change the method you are now using for picking up ordered books. Your new method is a barrier to ordering and finding books. I have ordered 4 books and each was on a different shelf. I have had to go through my emails in order to find which shelf number and which book is ready for me. Such a huge waste of time. Plus I am not even sure if I have picked up them all as they are not together under my name. This new method is ridiculous and does not work.

I have had consistently poor service at this library from staff who refuse to assist with the new holds pick up system.nnFirstly, a staff member refused to help, saying that I should get email notifications I do not, and they did not rectify this, another staff member also said that I should know the shelf number for holds, when this is not displayed on the library website and I did not have a smartphone with me.nnSecondly, I have witnessed fights and bickering between staff who are not attentive to the customers at the counter. The facilities are clean and I enjoy the selection here, but I am put off by the rude staff. I would like to acknowledge the lady with the beret and the young man, who by contrast, have been kind to customers.

Tidy and spacious, but SO COLD!! Being 10-15 degrees during this Winter period you’d hope it would be a bit nice and warmer inside instead of the fans blowing cold air around

As an author, I constantly need new environments to write stories. Since settling in Auckland, this is my first try at Botany Library, for spending time on my writing. Perfect, peaceful, well set up and awesome place. Thank you staff.
