Takanini Library and Community Hub

If you’re wanting to study, I think the staff do a great job of trying to accomodate by going out of their way to set up tables when the hub is busy. People often forget that it’s not just a traditional library, it’s a community hub too. They always have the best programmes for people of all ages to take part in. I love the customer service there and I think the music is a vibe. As a mum with three children under 5, it’s nice to be in a space where I am not trying to tell them to quiet down or feel embarrassed that they’re too loud. This is what community is, I love it. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I love what this place and their staff do for their community including a free use of the kitchen to make food and hot drinks and ping pong too. Thank you Takaanini!!! Our favourite spot!!!

Love this library so much, you can really tell how much the staff love the community! There are always programmes for the public and the space has a very relaxed vibe and good music - one of my favourite spaces to hang out.

Such a busy place. Its awesome, not no quiet little boring library. Computers to use, kids corner and slide to play on, ping pong tables, lots of seating for studying, reading and kicking back while the kids have fun and look for books. The staff are kind and helpful. The best library in Auckland.

I visited today and found the place was crowded, making it difficult to find a spot to charge my device and do my notes. The staff were incredibly attentive, going out of their way to find me a private space where I could comfortably finish my work. I truly appreciate their kindness and exceptional service. Thank you all for doing such an amazing job.

Best library ever!!nnThank you Takaanini Library for showing me what a community hub and library looks like. Being able to bring my children and not worry about them being too loud or having fun while still enjoy reading is a game changer for me. Im a young mum and get anxious easy when taking my children out especially to a library. I feel comfortable and relaxed here, so thank you for making us always feel welcomed, thank you for making your library truly open to everyone
