Takanini Library and Community Hub

Love this library so much, you can really tell how much the staff love the community! There are always programmes for the public and the space has a very relaxed vibe and good music - one of my favourite spaces to hang out.

If you’re wanting to study, I think the staff do a great job of trying to accomodate by going out of their way to set up tables when the hub is busy. People often forget that it’s not just a traditional library, it’s a community hub too. They always have the best programmes for people of all ages to take part in. I love the customer service there and I think the music is a vibe. As a mum with three children under 5, it’s nice to be in a space where I am not trying to tell them to quiet down or feel embarrassed that they’re too loud. This is what community is, I love it. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I love what this place and their staff do for their community including a free use of the kitchen to make food and hot drinks and ping pong too. Thank you Takaanini!!! Our favourite spot!!!

We enjoying coming here with our daughter who plays on the slide. Great little hub where u can make a tea/coffee, use there kitchen facility, read a book or join workshops. Such a great community feel.

This library has such a nice, casual atmosphere. I never worry that my kids will be an annoyance - they love the indoor slide, and always feel so welcome by the staff. Kia ora team
