My first experience with YHA hostels and it was a great one. Booked a 3bed room and it was clean and tidy, with lockers that had plugs to charge your devices. The room was nearly identical to the one in Wellington I stayed at next, which leads me to believe they are all the same. That is a very good thing, their service and amenities are excellent.

My room (342) was a twin bedroom and very clean. Not big and not much space for managing your gear. Seperate bathroom and there were three just outside my room, also very clean. Well insulated room that kept out noise from other rooms. However my room had a air conditioning unit just outside my window, and because it was a hot night, left it open and suffered this humming noise all night. Overall it was reasonable value for the price.

Good place to stay in close walking distance of city centre, Central Bus Exchange and Hagley Park. Servicing of bathrooms etc a bit average
