Honestly, I have nothing negative to say about my stay here. When we arrived there was a small problem with the wrong room being put into the system but it was immediately solved. The bed was soooo comfortable and the outlook over the city through the window is absolutely incredible. We ordered our meals through room service and while they did take a while to be prepared. It was absolutely worth it. They were warm and delicious. So much care was put into these products and it was better than most restaurants.nMy favourite part of the stay was mentioning that it was my birthday to the receptionist and her giving me a lovely box of chocolates. They were SO good and it was such a sweet gesturennIf you’re staying in Christchurch, please book a room here.
If you want a place right in the heart of the city and very upscale, then this is the place for you. I love the services and hospitality.nnI love the room and its view. There were some issues with the room but the staff came to fix it immediately and even gave a small token. This truly shows a lot of their efforts to make life away from home the best.nnPart of the IHG, you can claim points too for usage. Go through IHG to book this place instead of agencies.
Rooms great, spacious but a bit cold with only single glazing.nBeautiful bathroom.nExcellent location.nNeed to sort out room service instructions and delivery, almost impossible to order, once ordered, hit and miss if it actually arrives.nMore staff on reception at busy times would be helpful.nReception staff very friendlynBar staff are the shining star of the show.
Average cost per day for 5 nights was 306$.nCons first:n1. No car lobby to load and unload. It was raining when we reached and had a baby in lap.n2. Consistent dearth of staff , wait at checkin , no bellboys to help with luggage, 2+ reminders needed 3 times to get bedsheets etc to the room.n3. Limited complimentary water bottles, I think 4 of 250 ml per dayn4. Bath towels were very small and low quality.n5. Water pressure in shower very slown6. No water sprinklers on toiletn7. Incompatible charging points with international chargers. I had to buy adaptersn8. Dismal breakfast spread for 38$ pp.n9. No plates or cutlery in the room. Have to request and sometimes the request takes 30 minutes due to lack of staff.nnPros:n1. Most prominent hotel in Christchurchn2. Central location
What an easy check in and out process!nLovely view, I was on the 9th floor for a work conference and loved my experience.nThe rooms are super grand and so spacious!nCustomer experience was also amazing!nThe meals from Market Place was delicious! I had them deliver the food to my room and it was so amazing!nThe elevators had extravagant art work, as seen in one of my photos, they’re so culturally appropriate.nLocation was prime right in the middle of the city! Across the road from the convention centre. 3 minute walk to the tram station.nThank you for hosting me and will return!
