We chose this hotel on the internet, with words like quirky, bolthole and excellent swaying us to book. I am delighted to say that we were totally impressed and believe me when we return to Christchurch, we will stay here. From the warm greeting by reception staff, to the well appointed room that was both comfortable and exceptionally clean, what else could be asked for. Situated close to the 'square; and also the 'New Regent Street' precinct which offers a wide variety of dining options and boutique shopping, everything feels as if it is on the doorstep. Indeed the Cathedral Junction houses not only shops but the iconic Christchurch trams. For such a central location the noise level was very muted - put that with very comfortable beds and it meant great nights sleeping. If you get the chance - check it out!
We love this quirky little hotel. Superb location in the CBD near both cathedrals, massive number of great cultural sites, bars and restaurants, walking distance to the eclectic foodie haven of the Riverside Market which we love!. Our go to for Christchurch. Thank you for looking after us as always.Rooms: 5/5
I stayed at a superior queen room on January. The room was faced to main Street. I couldn’t find air-conditioner, but fresh air and sunshine from the window were so nice and enough for me. The room was clean, comfortable, and public spaces were decorated well with fresh flowers. And a night sift staff kindly let us use their microwave to cook our food. That was so helpful. Thank you so much! I am glad to know you noticed my message to thank you. *bath room heater for winter seemed so useful *gym option is available if you ask to the front staff *tram station and New Regent Streetrestaurants ,ice cream shop, bars are located in 1min. *there were a few steps somewhere around in building3 or 4 steps on the same floor. Like from the lift to my room. I hope to stay here when I visit this city again.
We have to be very realistic with this review. The hotel was great, the service was great, the location was great and the hotel was incredibly affordable and great for kids. It's not a 5 star hotel, it probably sits at the 4 star mark, but solid none the less. Would stay again.Rooms: 5/5
Great location! Super close to all things to see and directly at the tram stop and a very good breakfast cafe is just next door. What we did not like though: Could have been cleaner e.g. stains on the sofa, windows could not be opened and were very dirty and the fridge was on a styrofoam palette? I guess all in all a good hotel if you are not too picky and spend most of the time exploring the city :- The staff was very friendly.
Quirky hotel right in the tram station where the city trans go right through the building. It's not noisy if you're wondering. Our room has a little patio off of it with a view down to the glass roof of the tram station. We would have sat out there if it hadn't been soooo rainy and chilly the few days that we were there. Thankfully because the one day that it was hot, the fan in the room was running full blast. We didn't know you don't need AC in Christchurch cause it's never that hot according to the front staff. I didn't like that when we got there there were rooms available but since it was early, we would have had to pay extra to check in early. They never give you your full 24 hours on the first and last day do they? Check in at 2 or 3 and check out at 10 or 11. I understand that they need time to clean but to charge you when the room is available for hours that by right you should have anyway us taking capitalism too far. And when we asked if we could use the washroom while we wait, they said we would have to go to the hotel next door. What? Anyway I would have given them one star for the check in but they were super nice afterwards. And they did seem to work really long hours so maybe it's just dumb management rules that they have to comply with. Overall a decent stay. Oh great location, really close to everything. Rooms: Simple clean small but some have little patios which make them seem bigger. Get the ones with ceiling fans. An absolute must. Nearby activities: Tram hop on hop off stops right at your door! Church pub across the street for fun live music. Walkability: Close to river, market, restaurants, pubs.
We booked on line based upon Google reviews and weren’t disappointed. We got what we paid for. Location, clean and convenient. No fuss. Full marks to the staff would stayed up until 1am to check us in. Thank you and I have no problem recommending 115. I was surprised there was no air condoned but there was a very effective heating system in the room. We were in Christchurch during and unusually warm period. Thanks
Room was nice but small. Hard to find a spot to open up my luggage on the floor. My room had a small balcony which was nice to keep the door open for some airflow as it got a bit toasty without air conditioning. Having the ceiling fan helped a bit too. Great location in Christchurch. Would have given it 5 stars except when I left for my flight at 3 in the morning the sole elevator was out of service and I had to lug my bags down multiple flights of stairs which was an inconvenience.
I’m not sure why there are no other reviews about this, but we stayed on a weekend and there was pounding night club music until late at night. It was so loud that we could actually feel the walls vibrating in our room and our family members had the same experience in another room. We spoke to the woman working at the front desk the next morning expressing our frustration and disappointment and she offered no solutions. We have tried contacting management since then and they have not replied to any of our efforts, which is why we have resorted to leaving a public review. We understand that the club music is outside of their control, but we paid to sleep in this room and weren’t able to sleep, so we believe that the hotel must take part of the responsibility for this.
Stayed at Hotel 115 Christchurch for 5 nights. While the location of the property is fantastic 5 minutes walk to city centre, 1 minute to New Regent Street and Te Pae Convention Centre, the rooms at the property are significantly small and give a very boxy vibe. Unfortunately, on our second night there, we got woken up at 4am by planned window cleaning crew running around on the roof. Just a suggestion to the management: we understand that these maintenance routines are to be carried out, but they can be scheduled at a more convenient time, keeping the guest's comfort and sleep in mind. Having said that, the service from the reception staff, especially Raj, was commendable. He went above and beyond to help us out be it with places to see around, to giving us a table fan as the hotel doesn't have air conditioning to presenting us for Diwali sweets. He's truly an asset to the team.
