Lovely place, very central and well connected. The staff is super kind and helpful and the place is very relaxing. It has a nice garden and they do yoga and movie nights from time to time. Good installations and great people. I'd recommend very much. If you want to spend some days discovering Christchurch or to have some rest is the perfect place Thanks for the stay Chade! :
Stayed here for a couple of days. - It's a half-house setup, not exceptionally clean, with quite compact rooms and no lockers. + The highlight was the incredibly friendly people staying there at the same time as me. That made the experience worthwhile!
Booked 2 days in advance and prepaid for 2 people. On arrival was told that I was upgraded to a different room but my partner wasn't?!?! We were told, that our bookings came in separate, but the front desk guy mentioned later, that he purposefully separates men and women, even though the dorms are mixed!? After calling it out he cursed us and threatened to call the police on us if we didn't leave immediately!! Absolutely horrendous, worst hostel experience I ever had. Gladly booking gave us a full refund. Avoid this place at all cost!
pretty decent hostel, staff and people are really nice, and the bathrooms are alright as well, nothing too fancy. however my top bunk bed was missing the little garde-fou that prevents you from falling off the bed.. not the best night sleep let me tell you Rooms: 3/5
I stayed for two nights; pleasant hostel at this price. The location is perfect. Amiable and helpful staff. Saw a notice that they banned smoking on the premise from 1st June onwards; excellent decision! They need to make other guests follow the kitchen usage policy so that other guests clean the communal areas after their turn.Rooms: 5/5
Unfortunately more like a half way house than a hostel. Very run down and uncomfortable. Staff seemed friendly enough but yeah this property is not goodRooms: 1/5
The room was dirty, had a bad damp smell and the bed was extremely uncomfortable Bathroom and kitchen were both not very clean either. I didn't feel very safe in this hostel as a solo female traveler. I've stayed in many other hostels over the last 6 months and never felt unsafe before this stay. The other guest in my dorm didn't lock the door after coming back into the room and someone decided to try and come into our room at 11.30pm while we were sleeping which made me feel very uncomfortable too. Although our door should have been locked it was very unsettling to wake up to someone at the door in the middle of the night.
One of my worst hostel experience. No heating in public space in full winter.. the boss is so strict not possible to smoke tabaco in the garden, we've to go out in the street !!!, many warnings written everywhere, room too small. I felt bad since the beginning, impossible to relax there due to his own akward rules. Write on your description you re full anti tabaco !
It has all of the necessities, but I wouldn't want to stay for more than one night. I called about a week in advance to cancel my booking with the refund but I could not get in touch with anyone. I called multiple times and left a message, we didnt want to lose our deposits so we stayed here anyways. The kitchen and outside area were nice, clean and cozy. But it was crowded and hard to get comfortable in the other lounge areas. The rooms felt damp and stuffy as well.
The staff and owner here are friendly, the location is central and convenient, and I've made a lot of friends here! I really like this hostelRooms: 5/5
