Edit I'm reviewing again because I stayed here a second time in just 2 months. We had an issue with the blind in our room it wasn't staying shut quickly resolved by receptionist and moved and upgraded to a king room. ALL silver member by the way. We checked in late unfortunately no parking in multistory behind hotel we parked in street. Thank you so much for the welcome card, TV was on lights were on and air con set nice and comfortable like I was coming home! If you're just looking for a hotel to get some rest after a day out exploring Christchurch or after work, this place is great. It's well priced the bed is comfy enough for a few nights stay. It's not an ultra luxury hotel but just what we needed. It has a guest laundry $4 for wash $4 for drying. The rooms are a little small but we managed fine. The location is great. Parking is located in a separate multi story facility on Hereford Street. Nice bar in the lobby doing happy hour every night and the food menu looks alright. Great service too at reception.
The rooms are teeny tiny, but perfect for a solo traveller. Service is lovely. Wifi is strong enough for meetings. Beds are comfortable, but a bit short for us taller than average people. Skip the breakfast. It isn't worth the price. Go to the pastry shop around the corner for breakfast. Location is a bit far from the airport, but perfect for wandering around Christchurch. The rooms are quiet, but the lobby can get quite busy with the bar and restaurant.
Exactly what I needed for a weekend trip.nnA great location - handy for town and will be great for the new stadium when it opens.nnFriendly staff, clean facilities.nnI booked the windowless double room. It was fine for me, but I wouldn't recommend for 2 people. It was even smaller than I expected and would be difficult to just move around with 2 people. The double bed is obviously very small for 2 people, too.nnBut like I said, it was fine for just me. The bed was comfy, shower had good pressure.nnThe cooked breakfast was OK. A reasonable selection. The pancakes were terrible, but the rest was ok.nnI'll happily stay again.nnIf bringing my wife, we'd definitely get a queen bed instead.
I enjoyed my stay here! Check in was simple, I had the option of viewing some rooms before selecting one. Room was tidy and the bathroom was separate, decent sized and functioning well.nnThe view from my room was towards the Margaret Mahy park and of Manchester St. It was a lovely view especially in the morning.nnThe ambience of the lobby was nice, the meal of lamb shanks ordered at the restaurant was very delicious! Chicken breast was dry though.
The service upon arrival was excellent. There was a large group checking in and I was well looked after.nThe rooms are perfect if you are looking for no frills, the rooms are quite small but cater for what you need. My room was perfect for a single travelling for work, but if you need more space you’ll need a bigger room.nThe restaurant food was good, I had the fish. The coffee was ok, but I didn’t expect really great for a hotel, no offence. Parking was in a multi storey car park around the corner, it was fine except for driving up 7 levels. You can park on the street after hours for free if you want to move the car.nA highly recommended stay when travelling in Christchurch.
