While the central location is fantastic and the the service was great the room was dated, with plenty of scratches and general wear and tear, it could have done with a deep clean as was dusty, stains on roof in bathroom and general grime. The main bug bear was the lack of pillows, while the room had plenty of large square cushions we only had 1 pillow each for the bed, both had seen better days and we both have neck ache this morning, the bed was comfy although soft. A couple more towels would have also been good, one each was ok but for the ladies or long haired men another towel for your hair is always needed. General feeling was that the hotel were making cost cutting measures and it showed.

Perfect location just right in the middle of town next to the square and the city library.nWe only back in Christchurch for a couple nights to visit family member so we decided to stay in the city central so we can walk to food and some museums when we have free time.nI love the view of buildings and the mountains backdrop from our room. Spacious room with comfortable bed and a great shower.nSmooth and quick check in! Jenny at the reception was super friendly and helpful, she was making sure we were okay with finding the right car park and the online form. We had a some food at dinner in the Square restaurant and Patrick was very friendly and professional!nBreakfast was classic and good quality especially a fresh cut fruits.

Surprisingly a lovely quiet hotel with great staff. Apart from the room configuration the bedroom was clean, bed comfortable, and the view was awesome. Good selection for breakfast.nn8 minute walk from the Christchurch central bus station,  5 minutes walk to local bars and restaurants and to the cities shops. So overall great experience.

Love this hotel. Perfect location, exceptional staff service, delicious food and the most comfortable and clean rooms. The complimentary mini bar is a nice touch and especially love the Espresso Martini on tap which can be ordered as your welcone drink if you're an Accor Plus member. Brilliant.

We had a good stay at Novotel Christchurch. The location was great and so was the room. The rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious.nnThe buffet breakfast was quite repetitive, with the same limited menu offered every day during our 4-day stay. And the room service was extremely slow. We waited 1 hour for some chicken nuggets and fries for the kids.
