I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and I cannot express how fantastic my experience was! From the moment I arrived, the staff welcomed me with genuine smiles and warmth. They made an effort to remember my name, greeting me every time I walked through the foyer. This personal touch made me feel like a valued guest, which significantly enhanced my stay.nnThe service was outstanding; the team couldn't have been more helpful. Whether I needed assistance with directions or anything, they were always eager and available to assist. Their friendliness and attentiveness truly set this hotel apart.nnThe accommodations were comfortable and clean; with all the amenities I needed. From reception to check-out, this hotel delivered a great experience. The room was clean and comfortable, with a slightly unusual layout external sink but a fantastic view and a very comfortable bed. Casting was also built into the TV and seamless.nnBoth dinner and breakfast at the restaurant were excellent—great food and attentive service. The staff’s hospitality stood out throughout the stay, making it feel warm and personal.nnThe location is ideal, right in Cathedral Square and close to the bus interchange, making it easy to explore the city.nnA 4-star hotel with a 5-star experience—highly recommended for anyone visiting Christchurch.
The hotel is strategically located in the city center. Unfortunately the cathedral is under renovation and is not visible. The hotel is very beautiful, and the staff is helpful and friendly. The room has an excellent view of the city, the bed is very comfortable, and there is a good selection of pillows. Breakfast was perhaps the only flaw. The savory selection was varied, but the sweets were a bit limited. As for fruit, they served melon pieces with the rind on, which was in contact with the pulp, and we found a couple of pieces with mold...perhaps there is room for improvement. Overall, an excellent hotel.
My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary. I booked the Champagne to be in our room on our arrival. I had been sent a text asking what time our arrival time would be. I had stated between 12 & 3 pm as this fell in the time period given. I was also on a flight so could state the time period we would be arriving. On arrival our room was not ready. We sat in the reception area for 10-15 minutes until the room was ready. The Champagne was not in the room. When I contacted the reception their response was “it appears we forgot about that when would you like it”. When I arrived is when I would have liked it. Then there was the periodic fan noise that kept me awake what more can I say. The menu was not what we expected. No starters/entrees but when asked they could do some of the items as starters!!!! However the food we ordered when it arrived was really good. Overall we were disappointed. We moved to the Novetel at the airport what a complete difference. The food was outstanding entrees clearly defined excellent food excellent accommodation. Really great service. I think someone at the airport Novetel needs to communicate with the Novetel located in the square.
A bit aging hardware but everything was clean and tidy. The breakfast was very delicious.nTwo outstanding aspects of this hotel. Fiestly it is located right in the heart of Christchurch CBD. It has very good views. Can walk every direction and you can reach something! Secondly it is the extremely kind and professional staff! I had a few occasions I needed help and all of the staff I talked to helped me as it was their issues. I am extremely thankful even today! I travel often but this stay to this hotel was exceptional! I strongly recommend this hotel and I will stay again!
