Really nice hotel, and superb customer service. A special mention to Matt, working the afternoon and evening shift on Sat 16 August. There was a lot of noise entering our room, possibly from a nearby wedding, and at 10.30pm Matt was willing to help investigate the source of the noise and then assist us moving to a quieter part of the hotel, helping our baby have a good night of sleep.nOther feedback:nGood coffeenNice location near the parknWe'll be back on our next trip to Christchurch.
We had a great stay at this hotel. Incredible service from everyone: front desk, restaurant, etc. The room was well equipped and modern. The hotel is not in the thick of things which has its pluses and minuses. Quite peaceful. About 40 minute round trip walk to Marketplace and other shops and restaurants. So by the second day after walking many miles in the city, we ate at the hotel. Really good meal for dinner - thank you to Roddy for wonderful table service. We’d absolutely stay here again.
It was an amazing stay, the room and service was really good.nA huge shout out to Nicole from the front desk, she was really amazing for sorting out our mistake in booking and we are so lucky that day was not fully booked. She make sure that everything will be fine.
We loved everything about our stay at The George. From the moment we arrived to leaving; the staff could not have been more helpful or pleasant. Special shout out to Bryan who was truly the most perfect and professional staff member too.nThe hotel offerings were of a very high standard and, crucially, the price point was spot on! We ate at the restaurant and bar: while a limited selection, the food was delicious and the serving staff very professional. Our one bedroom suite was huge! But, also perfectly appointed with a wide range of high quality amenities on offer. Great location, close to everything. Would definitely recommend.
Just two blocks from the tram station, this is across the street from the Avon and a few blocks walk from the school and the Botanical Garden. Lovely staff, great service, plentiful breakfast. I personally love the fresh apples available 24/7 in the lobby. The rooms are spacious, the service quick and with a smile. The bar is well stocked. The dining room chef is plentiful with their servings and skilled.nnOur tour bus came in late and they were still cheerful about getting us all to our rooms and dinner on the table for us at 8pm.nnThe concierge was helpful with suggestions for our free time.
