We were meeting friends and needed a location that was pet friendly so we chose the Collective. When we arrived the place was booming, there were multiple parties and it was pretty busy.nWe were able to make a reservation for a table for 8 with no problem and we needed it.nIt's pretty much self service so we got our waters and placed our food orders at the bar. The food came out in a timely manner and was very good. We had the lamb Sheppards pie and the gnocchi and both were very good.nThe place was very loud but not terrible. Sitting outside under the tent with the heat lamps was fine and actually very comfortable.
I recently went to The Common Collective for the Malfy Bottomless brunch $80 pp. Unfortunately, the cocktails were not enjoyable at all and our group actually preferred the mocktails, which says a lot given the price point.nnThe food was equally underwhelming. The prawn pasta tasted like boiled cream and plain pasta with just a few small pieces of prawn. The entrees were disappointing too which were basically cut-up tomato variations, a few bits of cheese, and what was described as focaccia but felt more like regular sliced bread.nnThe venue itself is absolutely stunning and definitely draws people in, but sadly the food and drinks don’t live up to the setting. At $80 per head, it’s just not worth it. The whole menu really needs a rework to match the quality of the space.
I was recently in the area looking for a good place to eat, and after reading some positive reviews, we decided to give this restaurant a try it.nnTo begin with, it wasn’t immediately clear whether the place was a public restaurant or a private event venue. The entrance was hard to locate, and we had to ask someone before being seated in the outdoor garden area.nnWe started with drinks and were looking forward to trying the mocktails, especially given the impressive-looking bar. However, we were disappointed to see that the mocktails and orange juices were poured directly from store-bought bottles, with just a mint leaf added for presentation. At over $10 per drink, this felt overpriced and underwhelming.nnOn a more positive note, the cheeseburger the dish of the day was excellent — cooked perfectly with melted cheese, served on toasted brioche buns alongside thick-cut fries. We really enjoyed it.nnWe also tried the calamari and mozzarella sticks. The calamari had potential, but the batter could use more seasoning and flavor. The mozzarella sticks were average and had a slight fishy taste, possibly due to being cooked in the same oil as the seafood.nnWe ordered the kids’ penne pasta, but unfortunately, it wasn’t a hit with my children. The sauce was overly acidic and lacked depth of flavor — it felt like too much tomato without balance.nnFor dessert, we had the sticky date pudding along with some tea and coffee. The pudding fell short of expectations and didn’t quite deliver the rich, comforting flavor we were hoping for.nnService-wise, things felt a bit disorganized. Aside from the initial food drop-off, we didn’t see much of the staff and struggled to get attention when needed. It seemed the team was focused on larger groups and private parties, which is understandable — but it did leave us feeling overlooked. Oddly, the indoor dining space was nearly empty, which added to the mixed signals about the venue’s operations and priorities.nnOverall, this visit was a bit of a rollercoaster — some good moments, but too many letdowns for the price point. I’m not sure I’d return, but I hope others have a smoother experience.
Visited The Common Collective and really enjoyed the vibe. The place has a modern, stylish setup but still feels warm and welcoming. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavour, and the service was attentive without being over the top. A great spot for brunch, coffee, or even a casual dinner. Highly recommended if you’re after a café with both good food and atmosphere!nn#Bestfoodn#Deleciousfoodn#Foodiefindern#Foodilovern#bestautraliarestaurantn#BestFoodien#Bestrestaurantn#TheCommonCollectiven#AustraliaEats
It’s a great place for team gatherings and activities. Good environment and atmosphere. Lots of choices for drinks .
